\n\tAs LGBTQ romantasy fans await more Heated Rivalry<\/em> and Red, White & Royal Blue<\/em>, Taylor Zakhar Perez sees the similarities in the franchises.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor, who plays the U.S. president\u2019s son Alex Claremont-Diaz in Prime Video\u2019s upcoming Red, White & Royal Wedding<\/em>, admitted he\u2019s \u201cseen a few episodes\u201d of the Crave\/HBO Max series adaptation of Rachel Reid\u2019s Game Changers<\/em> books.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI haven\u2019t really thought about it,\u201d he told GQ<\/em> of whether the show\u2019s success made him think of his own hit movie adaptation of Casey McQuiston\u2019s 2019 book. \u201cI saw a lot of the same elements of Red, White<\/em> in Heated Rivalry<\/em>. I think they work so well because it wasn\u2019t just about sex, it was so much about intimacy\u2014and we crave intimacy because it\u2019s a lot less fleeting than sex is.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPerez added, \u201cI think they told a really beautiful story over a long period of time. That made it very universal. Anyone can watch it and relate to that type of longing that you have for somebody\u2014maybe it\u2019s like a forbidden love\u2014and what you have to do to either overcome that hurdle or just crash into each other and say yes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe sequel to Red, White & Royal Blue<\/em> was first announced in May 2024, with Perez teasing that he expects to begin filming in 2026.<\/p>\n

\n\tMeanwhile, after Heated Rivalry<\/em> was renewed for Season 2, creator Jacob Tierney told Deadline that it will be based on The Long Game<\/em>, the only other current book in the series that focuses on Ilya and Shane (Reid\u2019s Unrivaled<\/em> resumes the story on Sept. 29). Star Connor Storrie has since teased that production on the sophomore season could start by summer.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
