As he kicked off his return to the PGA Tour, golfer Brooks Koepka<\/strong> opened up about his family\u2019s recent hardships.

\u201cA lot\u2019s gone on over the past five or six months with my family,\u201d Koepka, 35, said in a press conference at Torrey Pines on Wednesday, January 28, seemingly referring to wife Jena Sims<\/strong>\u2019 pregnancy loss, according to Essentially Sports<\/em>. He added that the events of the past year have \u201cplayed a big role\u201d in his PGA Tour comeback this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have no regrets,\u201d Koepka, who left LIV Golf with one year left on his contract in late 2025, continued. \u201cBut at the same time, I\u2019m excited for this new chapter. Grateful to be out here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Koepka added that having his family present for the next tournament is \u201creally important\u201d to him.<\/p>\n

Koepka has been married to Sims, 36, since 2022. The couple shares son Crew, whom they welcomed in July 2023.<\/p>\n

Sims announced in October 2025 that she had suffered a pregnancy loss.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt 16 weeks, we learned that our baby\u2019s heart had stopped beating,\u201d she wrote via Instagram at the time. \u201cThis is a grief no parent is ever prepared for. We are devastated, but remain hopeful to give Crew a sibling one day. Too often, these struggles happen in silence. There is still so much work and research needed to better understand and support women\u2019s reproductive health.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sims continued, \u201cIf you\u2019re experiencing or have experienced pregnancy loss or infertility, please know you are not alone. \ud83d\udc94Lastly, I want to recognize the doctors and nurses who must deliver this kind of heartbreaking news every day. It has to be the hardest part of their job, and I\u2019m holding space in my heart for you too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Months before the loss, Sims opened up to Us Weekly<\/em> exclusively about parenthood.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor so many women, motherhood is their calling and their ultimate goal. I totally respect that. But that is one of my goals,\u201d she said in July 2025. \u201cWhen Brooks and I were discussing having children, I was always like, \u2018I\u2019m still going to be working. I\u2019m still gonna have a life.\u2019 I think it\u2019s intimidating to a lot of women who can\u2019t imagine it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The model continued, \u201cI just couldn\u2019t live my life any other way. I\u2019m thankful I found a partner who is very appreciative of that. If anything, I think it\u2019s one of the things he finds most attractive about me.\u201d<\/p>\n

In December 2025, LIV Golf CEO Scott O\u2019Neil announced Koepka\u2019s plans to depart the league.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have amicably and mutually agreed that Brooks Koepka will no longer compete in the LIV Golf League, following the 2025 season,\u201d O\u2019Neil said. \u201cBrooks is prioritizing the needs of his family and staying closer to home. We appreciate the significant impact he has had on the game and wish him continued success, both on and off the course.\u201d<\/p>\n
