Chad Franke<\/strong> is shedding light on where he stands with his mom, Ruby Franke<\/strong>, amid her imprisonment.<\/p>\n

In a video shared via TikTok on Tuesday, January 27, Chad used a sound from a viral Key & Peele sketch called \u201cSibling Rivalry,\u201d and lip-synched, \u201cShut up mom. Silence from you! You\u2019re cut off \u2014 from talking!\u201d<\/p>\n

Text over the video reads, \u201cEvery time I get a letter from my mom in prison.\u201d<\/p>\n

The clip has amassed more than 12 million views on the app.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tHulu In addition to unseen footage from Ruby Franke\u2019s archives, Hulu\u2019s tell-all docuseries about the YouTuber featured her eldest kids breaking their silence about the beatings they went through before she was arrested for child abuse. During Hulu\u2019s three-part docuseries Devil in the Family, which premiered on Thursday, February 27, Ruby\u2019s eldest daughter and son, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

News broke in 2023 that Ruby and her life coach, Jodi Hildebrant<\/strong>, were arrested on multiple counts of aggravated child abuse. The arrest came after Ruby\u2019s youngest son, who was 12 years old at the time, escaped from Hildebrant\u2019s home and asked a neighbor for help. Authorities noticed that the child was malnourished and his ankles and wrists had duct tape. His younger sister, who was 10 years old at the time, was in a similar state.<\/p>\n

Ruby and Hildebrandt pleaded guilty and were both sentenced to four consecutive prison terms. They are currently behind bars.<\/p>\n

While Ruby, ex-husband Kevin Franke<\/strong> and their six children rose to fame online via YouTube in 2015, the pair\u2019s eldest kids \u2014 Chad and Shari \u2014 are the only children who have chosen to stay in the spotlight.<\/p>\n

Shari, for her part, shared her side of the story in her 2025 book, The House of My Mother: A Daughter\u2019s Quest for Freedom<\/em>. In the memoir, Shari chronicled her mother\u2019s alleged abuse.<\/p>\n

After facing backlash for some of her parenting choices, Ruby stopped her \u201c8 Passengers\u201d channel and went on to launch ConneXions with mentor Jodi Hildebrant in 2022. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWhen I was younger, around, like, five-six, Ruby was really physical,\u201d Shari, now in her early 20s, told Good Morning America<\/em> at the time. \u201cWhether it was like a slap to the lip or a slap to the cheek \u2026 when I would practice the piano, her hand would slam and it was really scary.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked whether there is anything she would want to tell her mom today, Shari said, \u201cProbably tell her I\u2019m happy without you. I was scared of her for so long, and I am here without her approval, and I am just fine.\u201d<\/p>\n

While reflecting on her childhood during an appearance on the \u201cSunday Sports Club\u201d podcast in 2025, Shari explained that being a content creator with Ruby\u2019s 8 Passengers YouTube account impacted her relationship with Chad.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt really starts to affect, like, our family relationships offline as well,\u201d Shari said of the impact of \u201cturning kids into content,\u201d adding, \u201cIt affected my relationship with my brother for a while. Like, we can\u2019t stand next to each other in pictures and we can\u2019t give each other hugs. And, you know, we joke about it now, but for a while it was, you know, a genuine thought.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shari explained that there were moments when people questioned her relationship with Chad, leading to mistrust between the two siblings.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to go to the hospital for something, and I posted a picture about it, and I got a lot of people that were like, \u2018Oh, are you having your brother\u2019s abortion?\u2019 Like, from his baby. As a 17-[year-old], I mean, as any regular person, that\u2019s awful,\u201d she said. \u201cIt affected my relationship with him off the camera. So, things like that, I think had just added up over the years \u2026 I think realizing that 13-year-old Shari is always on the internet, and always will be, made me want to help other kids not have to go through that.\u201d<\/p>\n
