\n\tBig news for God of War<\/em> fans. <\/p>\n \n\tAlastair Duncan (God of War<\/em>, God of War Ragnar\u00f6k<\/em>) has become the first actor from the video games to reprise their role in the Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios\u2019 TV adaptation of PlayStation\u2019s popular ancient mythology-themed video game for Prime Video.<\/p>\n \n\tDuncan will recur as Mimir, a cheery fellow from Celtic lands with an expansive intellect, a quick wit and a good head on his shoulders. Never at a loss for words, Mimir is the self-described \u201cSmartest Man in the World\u201d.<\/p>\n \n\tHe served as an advisor to Odin (Mandy Pitinkin), the All-Father, who ultimately banished Mimir to confinement in the trunk of a tree, forever cut off from the people he loves and anything that could nourish his mind. In the wake of his banishment, Mimir seeks atonement for the terrible deeds he committed in the All-Father\u2019s name.<\/p>\n \n\tAlso joining the cast are Jeff Gulka (The X-Files<\/em>, Stargate SG-1<\/em>) and Danny Woodburn (The Witcher<\/em>, Bookie<\/em>), who are set to play brothers Sindri and Grok, in recurring roles.<\/p>\n \n\tSindri is a renowned dwarven blacksmith whose incredible weaponry is sought after across the realms. Neurotic, helpful, and extremely germophobic, Sindri is the complete opposite of his cranky, foul-mouthed brother and business partner, Brok.<\/p>\n \n\tBrok is a legendary dwarven blacksmith who was alienated from his community when he helped build a super-weapon. He is brash, irreverent, and gruff \u2013 the complete opposite of his uptight brother and fellow blacksmith, Sindri, with whom he has a contentious relationship. Gamers will know Brok as the beloved weapons dealer with an unrivaled artistry for creative, foul-mouthed curses.<\/p>\n \n\tThey join the previously announced cast, led by Ryan Hurst as Kratos, which includes Teresa Palmer as Phoebe\/Sif, Thor\u2019s wife and the goddess of family;\u00a0Max Parker as Heimdall, the Watchman of Asgard, and one of Odin\u2019s sons; \u00d3lafur Darri \u00d3lafsson, who will\u00a0portray the larger-than-life Thor; and Mandy Patinkin as Odin, the All-Father.<\/p>\n \n\tFrom writer, showrunner and executive producer Ronald D. Moore (Outlander<\/em>,\u00a0For All Mankind<\/em>),\u00a0God of War<\/em>\u00a0follows father and son, Kratos and 10-year-old Atreus, as they embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human.<\/p>\n \n\tGiven a two-season order\u00a0last month,\u00a0God of War<\/em>\u00a0is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios in association with PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions. In addition to Moore, executive producers include Maril Davis, Cory Barlog, Naren Shankar, Matthew Graham, Asad Qizilbash, Jeff Ketcham, Hermen Hulst, Roy Lee and Brad Van Arragon.
