Jane the Virgin<\/em> alum Brett Dier<\/strong> is engaged to Conor Leslie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI GET TO MARRY MY BESTFRIEND IN THE UNIVERSE!!!!\u201d Dier, 35, captioned an Instagram post on Thursday, January 29. He posted a photo of Leslie, 34, holding her hand in front of her face, showing off the engagement ring.<\/p>\n

In a second image, Leslie kissed Dier on the cheek with her left hand resting on his chest. \u201cI\u2019m pretty darn lucky,\u201d she commented on the post.<\/p>\n

Leslie shared the same two images on her own Instagram.<\/p>\n

\u201cGonna marry my best friend,\u201d she captioned the snaps. Dier commented, \u201cI can\u2019t wait,\u201d with several red heart emojis.<\/p>\n

Leslie made her first appearance on Dier\u2019s Instagram in November 2024. News of their engagement comes more than one month after it was announced that Dier and Leslie would both be starring in the upcoming romantic comedy In Spite of Ourselves<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo say this movie meant a lot to the two of us would be the greatest and most obvious understatement,\u201d Leslie captioned an Instagram post last month alongside the announcement.<\/p>\n

Dier was previously engaged to White Lotus<\/em> star Haley Lu Richardson<\/strong>. They were together for seven years before Richardson, 30, asked Dier to marry her in 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cNeither of us are, like, crazy romantic people, so nothing was planned,\u201d Richardson recalled during a March 2019 appearance on Busy Tonight, explaining that she and Dier were \u201ceating a pizza\u201d when she asked if he wanted to marry her.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut yeah, we\u2019re engaged now,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAfter meeting on set of Ravenswood, Haley Lu Richardson and Brett Dier were actual relationship goals before they called it quits. The Pretty Little Liars spinoff, which premiered in 2013, only lasted one season on ABC Family (now Freeform) but that was enough time for Richardson and Dier to hit it off. \u201cWe met on [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Richardson further discussed the engagement during an interview with Cosmopolitan<\/em> that same year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was totally in the moment and this gut feeling came up and coerced me to ask him to marry me and I did. And he said yes,\u201d she said. \u201cI feel like the trick to that was just not thinking about it at all before it happened. I just kind of did it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dier and Richardson quietly separated the following year. However, she didn\u2019t reveal their breakup until 2022.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey guys. This is me and Brett. We actually separated two years ago. But life goes on and we are both existing and doing pretty well turns out,\u201d Richardson captioned a July 2022 Instagram Story, posting a selfie of her and Dier. \u201cWe shared a deeply special chunk of our lives together.\u201d<\/p>\n
