The Nashville Predators have opened Bridgestone Arena on Friday to local residents affected by winter storms.<\/p>\n

The team said that members of the community were welcome to the arena on Friday between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. CT to charge their devices, fill up their water bottles and enjoy a meal.<\/p>\n

The Harlem Globetrotters, who play at the arena on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. CT, in partnership with the arena, will also be allocating 500 tickets to each show to residents impacted by the storms. Each ticket includes a $10 food and beverage voucher.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a hard week in our community for so many,\u201d Predators president and COO Michelle Kennedy said in a release. \u201cWe are hopeful that this weekend at Bridgestone Arena can provide a fun outlet for Smashville. We are grateful to have wonderful partners in the Harlem Globetrotters and Delaware North to provide tickets, meals and hours of fun. Smashville always comes together in times of need, and we are proud to be a part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Predators will also match $5,000 in donations made to the NewsChannel 5 Winter Storm Relief Fund.<\/p>\n

According to The Tennessean, nearly\u00a075,000 people remained without power as of Friday morning due to the historic ice storm that hit the Nashville area. The National Weather Service issued a cold weather advisory for Middle Tennessee from midnight on Jan. 30 through noon on Feb. 2.<\/p>\n
