I had the honor of knowing and working with the great Catherine O\u2019Hara for over fifty years. From our beginnings on the <em>Second City<\/em> stage, to <em>SCTV<\/em>, to the movies we did with Chris Guest, to our six glorious years on <em>Schitt\u2019s Creek<\/em>, I cherished our working relationship, but most of all our friendship,\u201d Eugene, 79, said. \u201cAnd I will miss her. What an honor it has been to know and work with and love Catherine O\u2019Hara,\u201d Sarah, 39, wrote. \u201cCheers to all that you brought to this world \u2014 you will be so, so missed. \u2764\ufe0f\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Melanie Lynskey<\/h2>\n<p>Lynskey, who worked with O\u2019Hara on <em>Away We Go<\/em>, wrote a lengthy post that was shared via Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo grateful I got to tell her what she meant to me- how she inspired me, shaped my sense of humour and understanding of the work we do, that she was the pinnacle of greatness to me. I\u2019m sure every actor she met told her similar things,\u201d Lynskey, 48, wrote. \u201cShe did not behave as though she\u2019d heard it a million times, she listened and accepted it with grace and wit and tremendous kindness.<\/p>\n<p>Describing O\u2019Hara as \u201cmy hero\u201d and \u201cgenius\u201d Lynskey gushed about having the opportunity to work with her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was incredible to watch her work and be in her presence. I\u2019ll never forget a minute of it. That day, and again on an overlapping shoot day on <em>Away We Go<\/em>, I saw her be nothing short of wonderful to every single person she encountered, from the director to the PAs. When people say someone \u2018lit up a room,\u2019 this is what they mean,\u201d Lynskey continued.<\/p>\n<p>She concluded,\u201cShe was radiant; it was kind of otherworldly. Her talent was singular. There\u2019s been nobody like her before and there won\u2019t be again. What a genius.
