Even before\u00a0It: Welcome to Derry\u00a0<\/em>ended near the end of last year, viewers were wanting more from the show. HBO\u2019s radio silence on another season has been notable in recent weeks, and according to boss Casey Bloys, that silence is intentional in the right way.<\/p>\n In a recent Deadline interview, Bloys revealed Derry <\/em>is \u201cnot in limbo at all,\u201d and that he\u2019d \u201chappily\u201d greenlight another season. \u201c[Co-creators] Andy and Barbara Muschietti are hard at work trying to come up with an idea for a story they\u2019d want to tell for another season. [\u2026] One of the challenges is, there\u2019s not a book that you\u2019re basing it on, so it\u2019s invention. They want to make sure that they have a story they\u2019re excited to tell.\u201d<\/p>\n The Welcome to <\/em>Derry <\/em>finale established that Pennywise exists at all points in time, meaning he could \u201ctravel\u201d to the past to kill ancestors of the 1989 and 1962 kids who defeat him. Andy Muschietti said before that he believed the show could have a three-season arc that\u2019d wind the clock back to the 1930s and 1900s. That idea is further backed up by scenes from the show\u2019s intro sequence and a handful of moments spread throughout the first season.<\/p>\n So make no mistake, Bloys and HBO will \u201cbe there\u201d to greenlight more Derry\u00a0<\/em>when the time comes.
