Justin Timberlake<\/strong> returned to the stage for the first time since revealing his Lyme disease diagnosis.<\/p>\n

Timberlake, 45, was among the performers at the Recording Academy Honors Presented by the Black Music Collective on Thursday, January 29, participating in a musical tribute to Pharrell Williams<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnybody who\u2019s come in contact with or been in the same frequency with Pharrell Williams is changed forever,\u201d Timberlake said between songs, per The Hollywood Reporter<\/i>. \u201cHe came into my life at a time when I was entering my own, and funny enough, he made me feel like I belonged. Your creativity is unparalleled, your energy is infectious\u2026you changed my life. And I will forever be grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams, 52, received the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award on Thursday, where Timberlake and more artists commanded the stage in celebration of the \u201cHappy\u201d singer\u2019s career.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tChris Kirkpatrick is in awe that his former \u2018NSync bandmate Justin Timberlake performed a full tour amid a battle with Lyme disease. \u201cI\u2019ve always known my little bro was tough \u2014 but this tour showed me a whole new level of strength,\u201d Kirkpatrick, 53, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, July 31. \u201cWatching him battle Lyme [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Timberlake, for his part, had taken a hiatus from performing in July 2025, wrapping his Forget Tomorrow World Tour <\/i>after he was diagnosed with Lyme.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs many of you know, I\u2019m a pretty private person. But as I\u2019m reflecting on the tour and festival tour \u2014 I want to tell you a little bit about what\u2019s going on with me,\u201d Timberlake wrote in a lengthy Instagram statement last summer. \u201cAmong other things, I\u2019ve been battling some health issues and was diagnosed with Lyme disease, which I don\u2019t say so you feel bad for me, but to shed some light on what I\u2019ve been up against behind the scenes.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cIf you\u2019ve experienced this disease or know someone who has \u2014 then you\u2019re aware: living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically. When I first got the diagnosis, I was shocked for sure. But, at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Timberlake, he powered through the concert dates while secretly battling his illness.<\/p>\n

\u201cI decided the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I\u2019m so glad I kept going,\u201d he added. \u201cNot only did I prove my mental tenacity to myself, but I now have so many special moments with all of you that I will never forget. I was reluctant to talk about this because I was always raised to keep something like this to [myself]. I am trying to be more transparent about my struggles so that they aren\u2019t misinterpreted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Through it all, Timberlake has wife Jessica Biel<\/strong> in his corner.<\/p>\n
