Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn<\/strong> revealed that she cannot race in the Saturday, January 31, World Cup super-G race in the wake of her most recent injury.<\/p>\n

The news comes just one day after Vonn was airlifted off the course following an accident, days before the start of the Winter Olympic Games in Milan, Italy.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, I won\u2019t be able to race today\u2026 wishing all my teammates a great race \ud83d\udcaa\ud83c\udffb \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8,\u201d she posted via Instagram on Saturday, along with a video of Friday\u2019s crash. \u201cThank you for all of the love and support I have received. Means the world to me. Doing my best right now\u2026. \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffb\ud83e\udd1e\ud83c\udffb.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fellow Olympian Shaun White<\/strong> \u2014 who was recently spotted snowboarding in New York\u2019s Central Park after the weekend snow storm \u2014 shared a supportive comment on the post.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tLindsey Vonn has broken her silence after she was airlifted off the course following a crash just days before the start of the Olympics.\u00a0 \u201cI crashed today in the Downhill race in Switzerland and injured my left knee,\u201d Vonn shared via Instagram on Friday, January 30. \u201cI am discussing the situation with my doctors and [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cYOU GOT THIS \ud83d\udcaa,\u201d said White.<\/p>\n

Vonn\u2019s followers flooded her post with positive and uplifting messages for the three-time Olympic medalist.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love you Linds \ud83d\udcaa\u2764\ufe0f,\u201d said author Amy Griffin<\/strong>, a close friend and staunch supporter of Vonn.<\/p>\n

\u201cSending fast healing energy your way! \u2764\ufe0f,\u201d posted Olympic gold medalist skier Julia Mancuso<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Vonn, 41, is in the midst of an Olympic comeback after an eight-year absence from the Games. If she is ruled healthy enough to compete in Milan, she will likely be a gold medal favorite in her discipline. She leads the World Cup standings in the downhill and has won twice on tour this year already.<\/p>\n

Her crash came during the World Cup Race in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, just one week before the Opening Ceremonies. Her first Olympic race is scheduled for Sunday, February 8.<\/p>\n

After Vonn\u2019s crash, the rest of the race was canceled due to poor visibility and conditions. Three of the six skiers who ran the race before it was cut short crashed out, including Vonn.<\/p>\n

France\u2019s Romane Miradoli<\/strong>, who finished her run without incident, said the conditions were less than ideal on the course.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t see and it\u2019s bumpy everywhere,\u201d she told reporters on Friday.<\/p>\n

After crashing out, Vonn received medical attention on the course for about five minutes, then made her way down to the course\u2019s finish line.<\/p>\n

Vonn entered the medical tent before being airlifted away by helicopter.<\/p>\n

Vonn is no stranger to injury, although that\u2019s never stopped her from competing in the past. She underwent a partial knee replacement in 2024, but just months later announced her return to the sport.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, she said she \u201cnever thought I would be racing again.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI fully retired, I built an amazing life for myself,\u201d she said on the Today<\/em> show on Monday, January 26. \u201cThis was never a part of the plan.\u201d<\/p>\n
