(Photo Credit: Ronald Martinez\/Getty Images)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nPattie Mallette is asking fans to pray for her son<\/h2>\n Recently, Justin Bieber\u2019s mom Pattie Mallette took to her Instagram page to pray for her son\u2019s \u201chealing.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the post, she wrote that \u201cwe\u2019re cheering you on and praying for you always Justin.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI declare freedom, strength, clarity, and healing over you Justin,\u201d Mallette expressed. <\/p>\n
She prayed: \u201cEvery chain of fear, confusion, heaviness, and pain \u2014 be broken in Jesus\u2019 name. Holy Spirit, surround him with TRUTH, LIGHT, and PROTECTION.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mallette\u2019s invocation continued: \u201cHEAL EVERY WOUND in his heart, mind and body, seen and unseen, restore what\u2019s been stolen, and cover him in WHOLENESS.\u201d<\/p>\nIn September, Pattie Mallette prayed for her son\u2019s \u201chealing\u201d in a very public post. \u201cContinue to raise him up as a voice for Your Kingdom, unshaken and on fire for You Lord,\u201d she said of her son.<\/p>\n
\u201cSilence every voice that doesn\u2019t come from You,\u201d Mallette went on. \u201cAnd let his life be a bold witness of Your power, love, and healing grace.\u201d<\/p>\n
Then, seeming to want support and agreement from social media followers, she concluded her post with: \u201cSay amen if you agree.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOnly thing I need healing from is my rolled pinky toe from playing ping pong,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n
We are, of course, sorry to hear about his toe.<\/p>\n
Toe injuries are not necessarily the worst wounds that a person might incur, but they are a literal pain.<\/p>\n
Additionally, leg-and-food wounds tend to heal more slowly than wounds on the upper body. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s farther from the heart\u201d sounds like mystical lore about trying to kill a vampire, but the human body is strange in several ways.<\/p>\nIn a reply to his mother\u2019s post, Justin Bieber said that he only requires \u201chealing\u201d on his toe. Unless we are totally misreading it, it appears to be a clear refutation of his mother\u2019s post.<\/p>\n
To be clear, Bieber is a devout Christian. <\/p>\n
(As you may have inferred, so is his mother \u2014 Pattie Mallette posts \u201cend times\u201d content on social media from time to time and then goes on with her day)<\/p>\n
His religious beliefs absolutely incorporate invocations like this. He doesn\u2019t seem to enjoy the negative attention, even though he continues to invite these worries.<\/p>\n
And, clearly, he wanted to shut down his mother\u2019s public prayer from feeding into this.<\/p>\n
We\u2019re reminded of how Dolly Parton\u2019s sister asked for prayers, causing fear and confusion. (She\u2019s fine, folks!)<\/p>\n
In fact, we\u2019re also thinking of when Hailey Bieber\u2019s notorious father prayed for the couple a couple of years back. That, too, seemed to be confirmation of everyone\u2019s concerns.<\/p>\n
Should Bieber take these external worries seriously? Or should people keep their prayers more private? (Maybe both?)<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
