Demi Lovato<\/strong> embraced her inner camp counselor for the Camp Rock 3 <\/i>newcomers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish that I had gotten advice, and I think it would have saved me a lot of trial and errors, like, figuring out s*** my own kind of thing,\u201d Lovato, 33, said on the Thursday, January 15, episode of the \u201cNot Gonna Lie\u201d podcast. \u201cI\u2019m grateful for the path I\u2019ve had without a mentor [and] without advice from others. I would love to be a mentor to somebody and guide someone through the journey that I went on.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cThere\u2019s no manual on how to be a pop star, and there\u2019s certain things I would tell [them].\u201d<\/p>\n

Lovato began her mentorship journey with the cast of Camp Rock 3.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cI actually did give, like, a mini pep talk to the new cast of Camp Rock <\/i>when I first met them,\u201d she told podcast host Kylie Kelce. \u201cI met them as a group and I was, like, \u2018Hey guys,\u2019 and I gave them some advice like, \u2018Don\u2019t be afraid to ask for time off, like, take care of yourself first. It\u2019s really important that you take care of your mental health so you can do the other things you want to do, like performing and acting.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201c\u2018If you don\u2019t have your mental health or if you get burnt out, that can all go away. It\u2019s important to take care of yourself.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Lovato starred as Mitchie Torres in Disney Channel\u2019s Camp Rock <\/i>and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam <\/i>in 2008 and 2010, respectively. News broke late last year that Lovato would executive produce a new movie in the franchise alongside former costars Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas <\/strong>and Kevin Jonas.<\/strong> (The Jonas Brothers will also reprise their roles\u00a0 in the new flick, as will Maria Canals-Barrera<\/strong>, who played Mitchie\u2019s mom in the OG movies.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThe story picks up when Connect 3 lose their opening act for a major reunion tour, returning to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing,\u201d a press release teased of the film\u2019s summary. \u201cAs campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances.\u201d<\/p>\n

Camp Rock 3 <\/i>will star Lima Segura, Malachi Barton, Lumi Pollack, Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, Brooklynn Pitts<\/strong> and Ava Jean<\/strong> as a new cohort of Camp Rock campers. It\u2019s not known whether Lovato will reprise her role as Mitchie.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know, we\u2019ll have to wait and see,\u201d Lovato quipped on Thursday\u2019s episode when asked about a potential cameo. \u201cWe are making way for the new generation to shine their light as bright as they are, and it\u2019s just really exciting to see a new generation step into the footsteps of us. It\u2019s beautiful to watch a generation of new actors and performers have their moment, and I can\u2019t wait to see the final product.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lovato also still holds a special place for her Disney roots in her heart.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCamp Rock 3 is officially in production, with fans excited to get a glimpse of the Jonas Brothers back in action. The third installment of the Disney franchise will see the return of Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas as Jason, Shane and Nate Gray, respectively, a.k.a Connect 3. Maria Canals-Barrera, who portrayed Connie Torres in [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI watched Camp Rock<\/i> a couple years ago [to show my husband,] Jordan [Lutes<\/strong> because] he wasn\u2019t a Disney kid growing up, so he didn\u2019t see any of that,\u201d the \u201cConfident\u201d singer recalled. \u201cI had to educate him. We still have yet to watch Camp Rock 2<\/i>, and I haven\u2019t shown him [my other movie] Princess Protection Program<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n
