Daniel Stern<\/strong> has been removed from ABC pilot Do You Want Kids?<\/em> amid his prostitution solicitation scandal.<\/p>\n

According to a Deadline<\/em> report published on Thursday, January 15, Stern, 68, will\u00a0 no longer be part of the comedy which is set to star Rachel Bloom<\/strong> and Rory Scovel.<\/strong> Stern\u2019s role will reportedly be recast, per the outlet.<\/p>\n

Stern was announced as a series regular in the single-camera comedy in December 2025. The show is set to follow couple Rosie (Bloom) Alex Zilbalodis (Scovel) who have a baby in one universe and don\u2019t have children in another. The plot centers around how the pivotal decision to start a family or not affects their life. In the show, which was cowritten by Bloom and her real-life husband, TV writer Dan Gregor,<\/strong> Stern was set to portray the Zilbalodis patriarch.<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> has reached out to ABC for comment.<\/p>\n

Stern\u2019s reported exit comes several days after the Home Alone<\/em> star was charged with one misdemeanor count of soliciting prostitution.<\/p>\n

Stern was officially charged with \u201cengaging and agreeing to engage in prostitution\u201d in Ventura County, California, on Monday, January 12, according to documents obtained by Us Weekly.<\/em> His arraignment was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 13, but will now take place on February 6, according to TMZ<\/em>. The actor is facing up to six months in jail and up to a $1000 fine if he is convicted.<\/p>\n

The actor was reportedly at a hotel in Camarillo, California, on December 10, 2025, when law enforcement issued him a citation for soliciting prostitution, according to police documents obtained by TMZ<\/em> on January 9. Per the report, Stern was not detained or arrested in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom what I understand, he was cited at the location and released,\u201d attorney and spokesperson Joey Buttitta<\/strong> told People<\/em> at the time.<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> previously reached out to Stern\u2019s representatives for comment.<\/p>\n

Stern is well known for his turn as \u201cwet bandit\u201d Marv alongside Joe Pesci<\/strong> and Macaulay Culkin<\/strong> in 1990\u2019s Home Alone<\/em> and its subsequent sequel, 1992\u2019s Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
