Kristin Davis<\/strong> recalled the awkward moment when she didn\u2019t recognize Tom Cruise<\/strong> at the Golden Globes more than two decades ago.<\/p>\n

During an interview with People<\/em> published on Wednesday, January 14, Davis, 60, opened up about attending the 2004 Golden Globe Awards alongside her Sex and the City<\/em> costars Sarah Jessica Parker<\/strong>, Cynthia Nixon<\/strong> and Kim Cattrall<\/strong>. Davis was running behind schedule for the event, and when she got there, she saw the women on the red carpet with a man who Davis later realized was Cruise, now 63.<\/p>\n

\u201cHBO always wanted the four of us to be together to have a group photo, which is really hard with the traffic and everything,\u201d Davis told the outlet. \u201cSo, I was stressed. I was a little bit late for the four-shot, and I had just seen [Cruise\u2019s The Last Samurai<\/em>], and [Cruise\u2019s] hair was long. So, I had just watched that one, and I didn\u2019t know he\u2019d cut his hair back off short.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress continued, \u201cI\u2019m hurrying down the press line to join the other three, and I see that they\u2019re talking to some dude. I\u2019m like, \u2018Why is there a guy in my spot?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tRumors have continued to persist over the years that Kristin Davis once dated her Sex and the City costar Chris Noth. Davis shut down the speculation once again on the Thursday, June 19 episode of the \u201cAre You A Charlotte?\u201d podcast and touched on the cheeky photo she believes is behind people\u2019s tongues wagging. \u201cNo, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Davis explained that when she made her way to her costars, it finally dawned on her who her costars were speaking to.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I go up behind him, at which point he turns, and it\u2019s Tom Cruise,\u201d she reflected. \u201cI grab his arm and jump up and down like I\u2019m trying to rip his arm out of his shoulder blade. And then, really stupidly, I say, \u2018I didn\u2019t recognize you.\u2019 And he says, \u2018You didn\u2019t recognize me?\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018Well, I just watched The Samurai and your hair was long.\u2019 So, stupid, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite having an awkward interaction with Cruise, Davis shared that the action star was \u201csuper sweet\u201d about the mix-up and, they even posed for a group shot together.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt so dumb, but he was so incredibly nice,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd then we all took pictures and he told us all how much he loved the show, so it was great.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis recently participated in Golden Globes festivities to honor Parker, who was the recipient of this year\u2019s Carol Burnett Award. During the Golden Eve special, Davis introduced her friend and costar, 60.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sun was shining extra brightly on me the day I met Sarah Jessica about 28 years ago. I remember her warm attention, her gentle caretaking and inquisitiveness,\u201d Davis said in a speech on Thursday, January 8. \u201cLittle did I know this would be the beginning of the most incredible life and work experience I could ever imagine. And I am so deeply thankful that I found myself experiencing it with you my dear Sarah.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis got emotional as she continued to gush over Parker and how the women formed a bond as \u201clifelong chosen family.\u201d<\/p>\n
