The project is an experimental prototype that allows users to create and explore interactive 3D worlds, raising concerns about potential disruption to game engine developers, including Roblox. However, Roblox is more likely to establish a partnership and add more world models to its game engine, the analyst said. Jefferies has a Hold rating on the gaming company. On the same day, Deutsche Bank analysts said the risk-reward profile for the company has \u201cmeaningfully improved\u201d after the stock selloff triggered by Google\u2019s announcement. The analysts said it\u2019s \u201cfar too early\u201d to measure the disruption caused by the development, and argued that there are scenarios where \u201cGenie could be a tailwind\u201d for the impacted companies. Genie \u201cwill not replace game development, nor will it disrupt the current mobile game discovery ecosystem,\u201d the analysts said. For Piper Sandler, the stock selloff in game stocks, including Roblox, is \u201cindiscriminate and overdone,\u201d according to a February 1 note.
