\n\tJason Momoa is getting ready to return to the Overworld for another Minecraft Movie<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tThe actor, who starred in the first movie as champion pro gamer Garrett \u2018The Garbage Man\u2019 Garrison, revealed that the sequel to the video game adaptation is going into production soon.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cVery soon. Dude. Bro, end of April. They\u2019re in it,\u201d he said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em>. \u201cThe script is even better. It\u2019s so good, I was laughing out loud. I haven\u2019t laughed out loud in a very long time at a script. I was perplexed on the first script, this one I\u2019m laughing out loud.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIn October, Deadline announced director Jared Hess is returning to direct A Minecraft Movie 2<\/em> from a script by Hess & Chris Galletta, which is set for a July 23, 2027 release.<\/p>\n \n\tHess previously told Deadline a Minecraft Movie<\/em> sequel \u201cwould be so much fun\u201d after the first movie\u2019s record-breaking box office haul kicked off in April, becoming Warner Bros\u2019 third largest opening of all time.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe had so much fun making this movie, and it\u2019s such an expansive world in the game, and there were so many things that we didn\u2019t tap into that we wanted to,\u201d explained Hess. \u201cI would have a blast doing the sequel, and it seems like there\u2019s already talk about it happening, so I\u2019m super excited. It\u2019ll be so much fun to go back into the world. The fans are just having such a good time. We teased it in the end credits, and the fans seem to be going wild for it.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tAfter teasing \u201cthe other massively critical character\u201d from the game, Alex, at the end of the first movie, Hess noted, \u201cIt\u2019s Steve (Jack Black) and Alex, and so that\u2019s the one that we will be bringing to the table without a doubt.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
