Zachery Ty Bryan<\/strong>\u2019s ex-fianc\u00e9e, Johnnie Cartwright<\/strong>, has been sentenced after being accused of trying to run over the Home Improvement<\/em> actor with her truck in November.<\/p>\n

Cartwright pleaded guilty to DUI and reckless driving, both misdemeanors, in an Oregon courtroom on Wednesday, January 14, according to hearing audio exclusively obtained by Us Weekly<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The additional charge of recklessly endangering another person was dismissed.<\/p>\n

Cartwright was handed 24 months of probation for each of the two guilty pleas and ordered to pay a $1,500 fine. Her license has been suspended for one year, and she must comply with the ignition interlock device requirement once she\u2019s back behind the wheel, Us<\/em> can reveal.<\/p>\n

Bryan\u2019s ex was also instructed to complete several programs, including a Quantitative Risk Assessment, or else she could face additional jail time of 20 days for DUI and an additional 10 days for reckless driving.<\/p>\n

On top of her fine, she is required to pay a $255 DUI conviction fee.<\/p>\n

Cartwright was warned she cannot possess or consume alcohol, nor can she visit any place where booze is the main product kept or sold.<\/p>\n

During the hearing, Cartwright\u2019s attorney told the judge that Bryan, 44, is her \u201cex-partner,\u201d whom she depends on financially. (The two share three children together).<\/p>\n

Cartwright will pay $50 per month beginning on March 1 toward her fine and DUI fee.<\/p>\n

Both Cartwright and Bryan were arrested on November 29, 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cDeputies learned Zachery Ty Bryan, 44, of Eugene, was in a pickup truck with Johnnie Faye Cartwright, 32, of Eugene, and their three small children. They were driving together in the area,\u201d Lane County Sheriff\u2019s Office confirmed at the time.<\/p>\n

The statement noted that Bryan got out of the truck at some stage and began walking on the road. \u201cCartwright then attempted to run over Bryan, crashing the truck with the children inside into the ditch,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cBryan was able to move out of the way and avoid injury. No one inside the pickup was injured.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tZachery Ty Bryan isn\u2019t the only one out of custody in time for the holidays. The Home Improvement star\u2019s fianc\u00e9e, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, was released from police custody on December 3 on a \u201cpre-trial release,\u201d a spokesperson from Lane County\u2019s Sheriff\u2019s Office in Eugene, Oregon, exclusively confirmed to Us Weekly on Wednesday, December 10. \u201cA [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bryan was arrested for allegedly violating probation as a result of a prior assault conviction and released from police custody on December 10, 2025.<\/p>\n

Cartwright was released from jail on December 3, 2025, but found herself back in the slammer days later for violating her pretrial release.<\/p>\n

During her sentencing, the prosecution shed light on what allegedly happened between her and the Home Improvement<\/em> star that led to their arrest.<\/p>\n

The eyewitness claimed he saw a male (Bryan) on the side of the road and Cartwright behind the wheel.<\/p>\n

The pair got engaged in November 2021, shortly after Bryan agreed to a plea deal in the domestic violence case against him and his former girlfriend. \u201cHe watched as the truck drove at the male on the side of the road, and hid an embankment as the male on the side of the road scrambled up the hill, away from the truck,\u201d the prosecutor said in the court audio, noting there were three kids in the vehicle. \u201cThe reporting party called 911, and the defendant yelled at him about everyone\u2019s lives being ruined and accused him of trying to take her kids away.\u201d<\/p>\n
