If John Mellencamp<\/span><\/strong> had his way, daughter Teddi Mellencamp<\/span><\/strong> would be closer to home during her stage 4 cancer battle.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to go out and see her [in Los Angeles],\u201d John, 74, shared on the Friday, January 16, episode of the Today<\/i><\/span> show. \u201cI\u2019ve tried to talk her into moving back home. I said, \u2018Move back to Indiana, bring the kids and just come back and live in Indiana,\u2019 but she won\u2019t do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Teddi, 44 \u2014 who shares Slate, 12, Cruz, 11, and Dove, 5, with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave<\/strong> \u2014 was first diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in October 2022.<\/p>\n

In February 2025, however, CT scans and MRIs allowed doctors to find multiple tumors near her brain. After treatment for stage 4 melanoma, which included immunotherapy, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills<\/i><\/span> star announced in October 2025 that scans showed \u201cno detectable cancer.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTeddi Mellencamp will always appreciate her dad, John Mellencamp, despite their well-documented ups and downs. John welcomed daughters Teddi and Justice with ex-wife Victoria Granucci in 1981 and 1985, respectively. The singer also shares daughter Michelle with ex Priscilla Esterline, and sons Hud and Speck with ex-wife Elaine Irwin. In May 2024, Teddi shared that [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While it was a positive update, John \u2014 who has resided in Indiana since the \u201870s \u2014 explained to cohosts Craig Melvin<\/strong>, Dyler Dreyer<\/strong> and Al Roker<\/strong> that his daughter is still suffering.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t say you\u2019re cancer-free with the type of cancer she\u2019s got for three years,\u201d the \u201cJack and Diane\u201d singer shared. \u201cShe has lesions in her brain. It went from her back \u2014 just a little, teeny spot on her \u2014 and over the last couple years, it grew and it got inside her brain and her lungs.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Thursday, January 15, Teddi made a special appearance on her iHeartRadio \u201cTwo T\u2019s in a Pod\u201d podcast<\/span>. (The Real Housewives of New Jersey<\/i> star Dolores Catania<\/strong> has been filling in for her as she rests and recovers.)<\/p>\n

While sitting down with cohost Tamra Judge<\/strong>, Teddi shared an update<\/span> on how she\u2019s been feeling.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been doing a lot of therapy, a lot of rest [and] a lot of hanging with the family,\u201d she revealed. \u201c[It\u2019s been] a lot of trying to get myself together because, apparently, I\u2019m struggling with massive PTSD. [The PTSD was] from everything that happened. I didn\u2019t really realize it, so I\u2019m starting to feel a little better. The cloud is lifting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Through all the ups and downs of her health journey, Teddi has continuously expressed gratitude<\/span> for her dad\u2019s support.<\/p>\n
