His husband, <strong>Stephen Hanna-Shuford<\/strong>, confirmed on January 3 that the <em>Beauty and the Beast<\/em> actor \u201cleft this world peacefully with love, surrounded by his family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On January 8, 2026, PBS TV chef <strong>Elle Simone Scott<\/strong> \u2014 who broke barriers as the first Black woman to join cooking show <em>America\u2019s Test Kitchen<\/em> \u2014 died at age 49 following a long battle with ovarian cancer.<\/p>\n<div id=\"news-block\">\n<div class=\"newsletter-form  \">\n<div class=\"newsletter-signup__success\" aria-live=\"polite\">\n<h3>Thank You!<\/h3>\n<p>You have successfully subscribed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>News broke on January 10 that <strong>T.K. Carter<\/strong>, a veteran actor known for appearing in <em>The Thing<\/em> and <em>Punky Brewster<\/em>, was found dead at age 69 in Duarte, California. That same day, Grateful Dead cofounder <strong>Bob Weir<\/strong>\u2019s death at age 78 was confirmed when he succumbed to \u201clung issues\u201d after being diagnosed with cancer in July 2025. Hours later, Colombian singer <strong>Yeison Jim\u00e9nez <\/strong>died in a plane crash at age 34.<\/p>\n<p>On January 11, famed composer <strong>Guy Moon<\/strong> best known for his work on Nickelodeon favorites like <em>The Fairly OddParents<\/em>, succumbed to his \u201ctraumatic injuries\u201d following a car crash in Los Angeles. He was 63. Days later, Grammy-nominated musician <strong>John Fort\u00e9<\/strong> was found dead inside his Massachusetts home. He was 50. Later that month, <em>All That<\/em> alum <strong>Kianna Underwood<\/strong> died following a hit and run.
