In a court filing on Jan. 16, District Attorney Jason Hicks wrote that doctors have said Cole has &#8220;suffered brain death and will never recover.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;(Life) preserving measures will cease in the coming hours and (Cole) will then be pronounced dead,&#8221; the filing states.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Hicks&#8217; filing allows the Caddo County Sheriff&#8217;s Office to remove the 24-hour-a-day guard at the hospital unless he recovers.
