With Netflix streaming Mark-Paul Gosselaar<\/strong> and Shanola Hampton<\/strong>\u2018s Found<\/em>, there\u2019s a resurgence in fans rooting for a toxic onscreen romance between their character Sir and Gabi.<\/p>\n

Found<\/em>, which premiered in 2023, followed public relations specialist and crisis manager Gabi Mosely (Hampton) and her team of associates as they worked to find missing people who have been ignored or forgotten by law enforcement.<\/p>\n

While Found primarily focused on the cases themselves, it also centered around Gabi and Sir\u2019s relationship. The NBC series introduced their dynamic with Gabi kidnapping Sir in the present timeline \u2014 as viewers learned via flashbacks that Sir kidnapped Gabi when she was a teenager.<\/p>\n

NBC canceled the show in 2025 after two seasons \u2014 before viewers got a concrete answer on Sir and Gabi\u2019s future. Luckily, Gosselaar and Hampton weighed in on their hopes for the fictional romance before the show\u2019s conclusion:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe truth is I can see [the intrigue] because there is a chemistry,\u201d Hampton explained to Us Weekly<\/em> in April 2025. \u201cWe are used to a man and a woman having chemistry \u2014 and then it automatically means a relationship. So what happened was Mark-Paul and I came out in season 1 not planned. We had this chemistry and no one knew what box [they checked[ because we need boxes to put everything in.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cPeople don\u2019t really know what to do with their emotions. \u2026 I think that that\u2019s what makes the show so special. That\u2019s why people need to see more to see where their relationship goes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mark-Paul Gosselaar Broke Down His Onscreen Approach<\/h2>\n

\u201cWell [our chemistry], it\u2019s not something we ever work on \u2014 it just happened organically. It\u2019s always been that way,\u201d he told Us in March 2025, adding that he and Hampton \u201cjust got lucky\u201d as costars. \u201cSometimes you don\u2019t need to like the person in real life for there to be chemistry on the screen. That\u2019s not our case. We really enjoy each other\u2019s company and I consider [Shanola] a really good friend. So that just bleeds through the lines that are all there.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time, Gosselaar clarified that \u201cthere\u2019s nothing sexual about\u201d Sir\u2019s interest in Gabi.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you said, it\u2019s written this way. So when I\u2019m saying these lines, I just have to understand Sir\u2019s deep affection for Gabi \u2014 and his love for her,\u201d he explained. \u201cIt\u2019s just that when he sees her, she brightens him. She\u2019s just a part that he needs and that he wants. It helps that Shanola is a really good person and she\u2019s a really fine actor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gosselaar concluded: \u201cBut as actors, we should be able to have that chemistry with anyone. Maybe when you see us actually together off set, [you see] we really enjoy each other and maybe people confuse that with [our characters on screen]. It just bleeds on the screen. But I think Shanola is a good enough actor that she could find that chemistry with almost anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
