Reese Witherspoon<\/strong> wants fans to know she would \u201cnever\u201d try and scam them after being impersonated online amid a \u201clarge scale\u201d celebrity fake out.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey, this is important. I want to just tell you what I\u2019ve been dealing with for the past 24 hours,\u201d Witherspoon, 49, began a TikTok video on Wednesday, January 14, posted from her verified account.<\/p>\n

The Morning Show<\/em> star revealed, \u201cThere are multiple people on TikTok and Instagram impersonating me, and they go into people\u2019s DMs and they try to build a relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n

Witherspoon explained that the scammers try to \u201cextract personal information, plan meet-up times\u201d with people, claiming they are the actress.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tReese Witherspoon has had quite the evolution throughout her career \u2014 as an actress, producer and businesswoman. The southern belle made a splash with her debut film, 1991\u2019s The Man in the Moon, at the ripe age of 14. While she briefly put her acting aspirations on hold following her high school graduation to attend [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI want you to know this is not me,\u201d she said in the solemn message. \u201cIt\u2019s so upsetting that people would use my name to manipulate people. But I want you to know that I would never ever manipulate you.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Oscar winner reassured her followers that she \u201cwould never reach out\u201d to them for \u201cmoney, for private information\u201d or to \u201ccreate a meet-up time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Witherspoon instructed fans to \u201cplease look at these accounts that are doing this and make sure they\u2019re verified\u201d when it comes to requests allegedly from her or others.<\/p>\n

Witherspoon is the latest celebrity to speak out about social media impersonators. Sandra Bullock<\/strong> revealed in February 2025 that online scammers were pretending to be her sister Gesine Bullock-Prado<\/strong>, which left her worried about her loved one\u2019s safety.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family\u2019s safety, as well as the innocent people being taken advantage of, is my deep concern,\u201d Bullock, 61, told People<\/em> in a statement at the time. \u201cAnd there will be a time when I will comment more, but for now our focus is helping law enforcement handle this matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Practical Magic<\/em> actress then warned others to be vigilant online. \u201cPlease be aware that I do not participate in any form of social media,\u201d Bullock said. \u201cAny accounts pretending to be me or anyone associated with me are fake accounts and have been created for financial gain or to exploit people around me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to learning she was being impersonated online, Witherspoon shared a heartfelt message with her followers about the little wins in life as she kicked off 2026.<\/p>\n
