\n\tWhile discussing his and Ben Affleck\u2018s new Netflix movie The Rip<\/em>, the Oscar winner explained that movies now require a \u201cvery different level of attention\u201d when they\u2019re made available to stream at home.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThat has a big effect, and it\u2019s also starting to have an effect on how<\/em> you make movies,\u201d he explained on the Joe Rogan Experience<\/em>, using Netflix as an example.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThe standard way to make an action movie that we learned was, you usually have three set pieces. One in the first act, one in the second, one in the third. And the kinda ramp up to the big one with all the explosions. You spend most of your money on that one in the third act. That\u2019s your finale. And now they\u2019re like, \u2018Can we get a big one in the first five minutes? We want people to stay tuned in.’\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tDamon continued, \u201c\u2018And it wouldn\u2019t be terrible if you reiterated the plot three or four times in the dialogue because people are on their phones while they\u2019re watching.’\u201d<\/p>\n \n
