Colton Underwood<\/strong> is responding to his former The Traitors<\/em> costar Michael Rapaport<\/strong>\u2019s apparent dig about his sexuality.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think any closeted or queer person who has to hide a part of themselves is always going to be a little sensitive to comments and digs,\u201d Underwood, 33, told Bustle<\/em> in an interview published on Friday, January 16. \u201cI don\u2019t know if [it\u2019s shown], but Yam Yam [Arocho]<\/strong> got really emotional when that happened. He said, \u2018Michael, I never had to live in the closet because I could be out at any age, but I have friends who have, and I would never wish that upon people.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cIt rattled me. It got to me. And it was really emotional.\u201d<\/p>\n

Underwood, who previously starred and dated women while appearing on both The Bachelorette<\/em> and The Bachelor<\/em>, came out as gay in 2021. At the time, the reality star claimed he was being blackmailed and, as a result, decided to publicly announce his sexuality.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMichael Rapaport received major backlash after bringing up Colton Underwood\u2019s struggles with his sexuality on The Traitors. During the Thursday, January 15, episode of the hit Peacock series, Colton, 33, originally brought up his personal life while discussing his time on The Bachelor. \u201cI have already cried too much on TV, I can\u2019t do it [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On this week\u2019s episode 5 of the hit reality series, Rapaport, 55, insinuated that Underwood was a good liar because he hid his sexuality.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody in this room would be better at holding a secret than you,\u201d the actor said while pointing across the table at Underwood.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere it is,\u201d Colton responded during the episode. \u201cYou think it was fun for 29 years of my life?\u201d<\/p>\n

The comedian then seemingly attempted to walk back his comments, clarifying that he wasn\u2019t referring to Underwood\u2019s sexuality.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh no, no, no, no, no \u2014 that has nothing to do with it,\u201d Rapaport claimed. \u201cI think you came into this game loving the idea of being a Traitor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite his claims, Rapaport\u2019s fellow contestants immediately responded in support of Underwood, condemning Rapaport\u2019s apparent slight.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t blame somebody being forced into a closet for the majority of their life,\u201d Johnny Weir<\/strong> said, while Arocho called Rapaport\u2019s comments \u201ca very low blow.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t intended to be,\u201d Rapaport insisted, to no avail.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, the way you spoke to Colton, for me, it\u2019s enough to write your name down,\u201d Natalie Anderson<\/strong> said. \u201cSo I think we should just get together and vote him out of here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rapaport was ultimately eliminated from the competition with 11 out of 16 votes. (Ron Funches<\/strong> received the other five votes.)<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t make me feel good,\u201d Underwood told Rapaport while casting his vote. \u201cI don\u2019t want you in the castle.\u201d<\/p>\n
