March 4 (Reuters) – Artificial intelligence startup OpenAI (OPAI.PVT) topped $25 billion in annualized revenue as of the \u200cend of last month, The Information reported \u200con Wednesday, citing a person familiar with the figure.<\/p>\n
This is a \u200b17% increase from the $21.4 billion in annualized revenue that the company generated at the end of the year, the report said.<\/p>\n
Reuters could not verify the \u200creport. OpenAI did not \u2060immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n
OpenAI is expanding into the enterprise market \u2060by teaming up with four of the world\u2019s largest consulting firms, betting that a more hands-on approach \u200bwill help \u200bcorporate clients move beyond \u200bpilot projects to full-scale \u200cAI deployments.<\/p>\n
In the enterprise race, OpenAI faces competition from rivals such as Anthropic and giants like Google that are selling AI capabilities to enterprises.<\/p>\n
Since late 2022, OpenAI has gone from effectively zero revenue \u200cto more than $20 billion in \u200bannualized revenue in 2025. Its \u200brival Anthropic has \u200bfollowed a similar trajectory, climbing to roughly $9 \u200cbillion in annualized revenue.<\/p>\n\n
OpenAI is \u200btargeting roughly $600 \u200bbillion in total compute spending through 2030, as the ChatGPT maker lays the groundwork for \u200ban IPO that \u200ccould value it at up to $1 trillion.<\/p>\n
