Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,\u201d Brooklyn began\u00a0his Instagram Stories post, which continued across multiple slides. <\/p>\n
\u201cI do not want to reconcile with my family. I\u2019m not being controlled, I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
As you\u2019re probably aware, the problems seem to stem from Brooklyn\u2019s marriage to Nicola Peltz, whom his parents have never fully accepted.<\/p>\n

My mum cancelled making Nicola\u2019s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n
\u201cWeeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brooklyn went on to claim that his parents have attempted to break up his relationship, and that they recently refused to see him and Nicola during the couple\u2019s trip to London.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we\u2019ve tried to come together as one,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

(Photo by Frazer Harrison\/Getty Images)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cDespite this, we still travelled to London for my dad\u2019s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brooklyn concluded by blasting his parents for being obsessed with their brand and public image:<\/p>\n
\u201cMy family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first,\u201d he wrote, adding:<\/p>\n
\u201cFamily \u2018love; is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it\u2019s at the expense of our professional obligations. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show \u2018our perfect family. But the one time my wife asked for my mum\u2019s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.\u201d<\/p>\n
Needless to say, Brooklyn seems to have had it with his parents\u2019 behavior. David and Victoria have not yet addressed his allegations publicly, but this is the sort of commentary that pretty much demands some sort of response.<\/p>\n
