\n\tEven since a sequel to Amazon MGM Studios\u2018 rom-com hit Red, White & Royal Blue<\/em>, starring Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez, was announced in May 2024, its plot has been kept under wraps. <\/p>\n \n\tWith no designated source material the way the first movie was based on Casey McQuiston\u2019s bestselling novel, there had been no clear blueprint for the follow-up, triggering a lot of speculation, especially after the sequel was officially greenlighted last October and its title, Red,\u00a0White\u00a0& Royal Wedding<\/em>, was revealed with no details on the storyline. <\/p>\n \n\tIt has stemmed largely from the bonus chapter in the Red, White & Royal Blue<\/em> collector\u2019s edition, set after the events in the book, in which British Prince Henry (Galitzine) and U.S. President\u2019s son Alex Claremont-Diaz (Zakhar Perez) are engaged and are planning a wedding.<\/p>\n \n\tWell, Red, White & Royal Wedding<\/em> will not be about that<\/em> wedding, with Galitzine jokingly suggesting that same-sex British royal nuptials may be \u201ca long ways off\u201d in a behind-the-scenes video from the set of sequel, which has started production. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWelcome back!,\u201d Galitzine, bulked-up coming off his role as He-Man in Amazon MGM\u2019s live-action Masters of the Universe<\/em>, says alongside Zakhar Perez in the video, which you can watch below.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cOh, I did want to say that we are here for Bea\u2019s wedding,\u201d Perez noted, revealing the likely subject of the royal wedding from the title of the sequel. <\/p>\n \n\tBea is Henry\u2019s supportive younger sister, Princess Beatrice, played in the original movie by Ellie Bamber. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cYeah, we just wanted to clarify, you know? Don\u2019t get confused.\u201d Galitzine said. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe\u2019re not getting married,\u201d Perez emphasized, pointing to him and Galitzine.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThat\u2019s a long ways off at this point,\u201d Galitzine added. <\/p>\n \n\tSo far, only Galitzine and Zakhar Perez have been announced as coming back for the sequel, reprising their roles as Prince Henry and Alex Claremont-Diaz who fell in love in the first movie. Sarah Shahi\u2019s return also has been confirmed, with no official word yet on Bamber,\u00a0Uma Thurman,\u00a0Rachel Hilson, and\u00a0Clifton Collins Jr.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tNo premiere date has been set; with a 2026 premiere on Prime Video likely. <\/p>\n \n\tJamie Babbit is directing Red, White & Royal Wedding <\/em>from a script by Gemma Burgess, Matthew L\u00f3pez, and\u00a0McQuiston.\u00a0Berlanti Schechter Films\u2019 Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter are back to produce the the sequel, joined by the banner\u2019s Michael McGrath, as well as L\u00f3pez and Sullivan Street Productions\u2019 Jennifer Salke.
