David Beckham<\/strong> is keeping quiet amid his son Brooklyn Beckham<\/strong>\u2019s explosive statement accusing the retired soccer star and wife Victoria<\/strong> of controlling him for much of his life.<\/p>\n

David, 50, was pictured at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Tuesday, January 20, where he recorded a podcast with psychologist and author Adam Grant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The sports star avoided questions about his son\u2019s statement as he walked across the room at the annual conference.<\/p>\n

Sky News<\/em> business correspondent Paul Kelso<\/strong> attempted to ask him, \u201cDavid, do you have a message for Brooklyn this morning?\u201d per video footage published by the outlet.<\/p>\n

Rumors soon began to circulate that Nicola and Brooklyn\u2019s mother had a falling out over a wedding gown \u2014 an allegation Brooklyn tried to stymy. \u201cThey\u2019re always going to [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

David continued to walk on by and offered no answers as Kelso further pressed, \u201cDavid, are you disappointed family business is being aired in public?\u201d<\/p>\n

The former Manchester United player\u2019s appearance Tuesday comes less than 24 hours after eldest son Brooklyn, 26, broke his silence on his fractured relationship with David and Victoria, 51.<\/p>\n

Rumors of a Beckham family rift first surfaced in May 2025, though insiders previously told Us Weekly<\/em> that the disagreement can be traced back to Brooklyn\u2019s April 2022 wedding to actress Nicola Peltz Beckham<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In a scathing statement posted via his Instagram Story on Monday, January 19, Brooklyn said, \u201cI do not want to reconcile with my family. I\u2019m not being controlled, I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooklyn alleged that \u201cmy parents and their team have continued to go to the press\u201d with stories about him and his wife, \u201cleaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his statement, Brooklyn accused his parents of crafting a curated image of their famous family in the press, which he described as deceptive. (Along with Brooklyn, David and Victoria share sons Romeo<\/strong>, 23, and Cruz<\/strong>, 20, and daughter Harper, 14.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThe performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into,\u201d he wrote. \u201cRecently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they\u2019ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooklyn claimed that his parents \u201chave been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn\u2019t stopped,\u201d alleging that fashion designer Victoria \u201ccancelled making Nicola\u2019s [wedding] dress in the eleventh hour\u201d before their nuptials.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in his statement, Brooklyn claimed that his parents \u201cpressured\u201d him into \u201csigning away the rights to my name\u201d and that Victoria called him \u201cevil\u201d for seating his paternal grandmother and Nicola\u2019s grandmother at the top table at their wedding.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours,\u201d Brooklyn wrote, adding, \u201cThe night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was \u2018not blood\u2019 and \u2018not family.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooklyn further alleged that Victoria \u201chijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song.\u201d<\/p>\n
