Guy Fieri<\/strong> is giving an update on his health after a recent hospitalization left him in a wheelchair.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m doing better. It was definitely a trying holiday, but you know what, you get some real appreciation for having the ability to just get up and walk around and do everything you used to,\u201d Fieri, 57, told People<\/em> in an interview published on Wednesday, January 14. \u201cI\u2019m a big CrossFit and hiking guy, so eight weeks of no hiking has driven me kind of crazy. But I\u2019m looking forward to it, trying to take it easy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives<\/em> host revealed in November 2025 that he has been rushed into emergency surgery after an accident on the set of his new show, Flavortown Food Fight<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI slipped down a set of steps and one foot went forward and the other foot got caught on the threshold,\u201d the chef told Fox News Digital<\/em> at the time. \u201cSo, you know, it extended me out. I looked like I was probably doing the splits, but when my right leg compressed into itself, the giveaway point \u2026 and the doctor said he\u2019s never seen \u2014 you know, in 20 years \u2014 he hasn\u2019t seen a tear in the biggest, thickest part of your quad in half. Yeah, it sucked.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Fieri said a tear in someone\u2019s quad usually happens at the tendon or \u201cthe tendon tears off the bone,\u201d his injury was \u201cright in the center\u201d of the muscle, which \u201cexploded.\u201d<\/p>\n

After being admitted to the hospital, Fieri was immediately taken into surgery to make sure his muscle didn\u2019t \u201crecede.\u201d He was later told he\u2019d be in a wheelchair and on crutches throughout the holiday season.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to affect it because I\u2019m on crutches and in a wheelchair,\u201d he explained to Fox<\/em> at the time. \u201cI mean, I have to stay off it and the whole thing. I can\u2019t walk on it for eight weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Two months later, Fieri is ready to get up and back on his feet \u2014 but his doctors have warned him to take it easy so he doesn\u2019t regress.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy doctors are all like, \u2018We know you want to get after it, but let\u2019s not go back to where we were.\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018We are never going back to that!\u2019 That was the worst thing I\u2019ve been through in the last 20 years,\u201d he told People<\/em> on Wednesday before promising he\u2019ll be \u201cup and ready and healthy and rolling\u201d by the time Super Bowl LX comes in February.<\/p>\n
