While Hank insists to Alma that he didn\u2019t do what he\u2019s being accused of, both Hank and Maggie confide in Alma for support. Meanwhile, Alma\u2019s unwitting involvement in the situation threatens to expose a dark secret from her past.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luca Guadagnino\u2019s<\/strong> psychological thriller tackles some timely and difficult subject matter, though it received very mixed reviews from critics. However, the movie isn\u2019t without its shooters (including us). In addition to a particularly superb showing from Roberts \u2014 which some critics have hailed as the actress\u2019 best performance in years \u2014 <em>After the Hunt<\/em> is a tense, moody and, above all, very mature look at sexual abuse allegations and cancel culture that refuses to hold anyone\u2019s hand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rotten Tomatoes score: 54 percent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Devil&#039;s Rejects (2005) - Official Trailer\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rK6HXh9zRdU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After the events immediately following director <strong>Rob Zombie\u2019s<\/strong> previous film, <em>House of 1000 Corpses,\u00a0<\/em>Zombie does a complete tonal 180, shifting from B-movie, exploitation horror homage to gritty crime thriller with his follow-up, <em>The Devil\u2019s Rejects.\u00a0<\/em>On the run from the law after their house of horrors was uncovered by the police, the Firefly family \u2014 made up of Baby (<strong>Sherri Moon Zombie<\/strong>), Otis (<strong>Bill Moseley<\/strong>) and Captain Spaulding (<strong>Sid Haig<\/strong>) \u2014 goes on the lam, but not without accumulating more victims on the way.<\/p>\n<p>As a director, Zombie has always been deeply polarizing to critics. But he\u2019s achieved a passionate fan following that has turned a number of his films into cult classics, including <em>The Devil\u2019s Rejects.\u00a0<\/em>A compelling drama-thriller hybrid that places the villains squarely in the protagonists\u2019 seats,\u00a0<em>The Devil\u2019s Rejects<\/em> forces discomfort from its audience in its aim to observe the causes and effects of violence while implicating viewers. More intelligent and nuanced than it might seem on the surface,\u00a0<em>The Devil\u2019s Rejects<\/em> is also a bloody good time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rotten Tomatoes score: 72 percent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Saltburn | Official Trailer\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lALMdJf6UUE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After meeting at Oxford University, wealthy student Felix (<strong>Jacob Elordi<\/strong>) invites his less fortunate classmate Oliver (<strong>Barry Keoghan<\/strong>) to stay with him at his family\u2019s vast country estate, Saltburn, over the summer holiday. However, the meeting between Felix and Oliver was no chance encounter \u2014 Oliver became fixated on the handsome aristocrat and maneuvered his way into meeting him. Felix comes to realize that Oliver has intentional (and dangerous) intentions for him and his family \u2014 but will it be too late?<\/p>\n<p>Visually sumptuous and carried by two dynamite performances from Elordi and Keoghan,\u00a0<em>Saltburn<\/em> is a riveting (and often very funny) satire of obsession, excess and social class. The film is a lurid, debauched and pulpy, with a plotline full of twists and turns that both shock and surprise. When her company\u2019s artistic director forces his prima ballerina into retirement, Nina auditions and winds up snagging the lead part for their upcoming performance of <em>Swan Lake.\u00a0<\/em>However, Nina finds herself increasingly undone by a new dancer who looks similar to her, Nina (<strong>Mila Kunis<\/strong>), and as the two women form a twisted friendship, Nina\u2019s reality and dreams begin to blur.<\/p>\n<p>For her role as Nina, Portman clinched the Academy Award for Best Actress, with <em>Black Swan\u00a0<\/em>having received five overall nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director for <strong>Darren Aronofsky.\u00a0<\/strong>Despite rave reviews and awards nods,\u00a0<em>Black Swan<\/em> is nevertheless a very difficult watch \u2014 but it\u2019s this very darkness that makes it such a masterful work. Will the band make it through the night, or become the next victims?<\/p>\n<p>Led by a group of powerhouse performances by its central cast,\u00a0<em>Green Room\u00a0<\/em>is a gripping genre thriller that is as intelligent as it is entertaining. Combining gore with claustrophobia and survivalism, director <strong>Jeremy Saulnier<\/strong> displays a masterful command of suspense and adrenaline, knowing exactly when to pull back and when to go for broke.
