\n\tEXCLUSIVE<\/strong>: As the Sundance Film Festival is set to kick off its last hurrah in Park City, the legacy of its Institute is set to be explored in a new docuseries.<\/p>\n \n\tHulu has greenlit a three-part series, from Searchlight Television, telling the story of the Sundance Institute, which has seen attendances from the likes of Quentin Tarantino, Chlo\u00e9 Zhao, Ryan Coogler, Paul Thomas Anderson, Ava DuVernay, Alfonso Cuar\u00f3n and Darren Aronofsky.<\/p>\n \n\tThe untitled project has its own veritable feast of filmmakers involved with Coogler, A Star Is Born<\/em> producer Lynette Howell Taylor, who is President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and Icaru<\/em>s producer Mark Monroe\u00a0among the executive producers.<\/p>\n \n\tBraden King, whose own road movie Here<\/em> was developed at the 2007\u00a0Sundance\u00a0Institute Screenwriters and Directors Labs\u00a0before premiering at the 2011 festival, will direct.<\/p>\n \n\tThe series will \u201cchronicle the legacy of the Sundance Institute, tracing the story of the creative incubator that shaped many of the most influential filmmakers of our time\u201d.<\/p>\n \n\tThe three-part will draw on decades of never-before-seen archival footage and look at the cultural impact of the Institute, which was founded by Robert Redford in 1981. It will trace the ways that the likes of Coogler, Anderson, Zhao and Tarantino found their creative freedom thanks to the organization.<\/p>\n \n\tIt is exec produced by Howell Taylor\u00a0for\u00a051\u00a0Entertainment, King\u00a0for\u00a0Truckstop Media, Ryan Coogler, Zinzi\u00a0Coogler,\u00a0Sev Ohanian, and\u00a0Kelli Buchanan\u00a0for\u00a0Proximity Media, Carly Hugo\u00a0and\u00a0Matthew Parker\u00a0for\u00a0Loveless and Monroe, who also writes. Sundance\u2019s Michelle Satter,\u00a0Amy Redford and\u00a0John Cooper serve as consulting producers.<\/p>\n \n\tSearchlight Television is the television arm of Searchlight Pictures, which is behind series such as The<\/em> Dropout<\/em> and Elizabeth Meriwether\u2019s upcoming thriller series Furious<\/em>\u00a0for Hulu.<\/p>\n \n\tKing is represented by Granderson Des Rochers\u00a0and Washington Square Films.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
