Brian Austin Green<\/strong> opened up about how keeping his past romance with Martin<\/em> alum Tichina Arnold<\/strong> a secret made him feel insecure.<\/p>\n\u201cShe was very clear on day one of like, \u2018Nobody can know about this,\u2019\u201d Green, 52, claimed during a Wednesday, January 14, episode of Deon Cole<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cFunny Knowing You\u201d podcast. \u201cCan\u2019t tell people, can\u2019t talk about this.\u201d<\/p>\nGreen explained he and Arnold, 56, connected when they were in their 20s. In addition to starring in Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em>, Green was interested in hip-hop music which he and Arnold bonded over. Arnold, who was starring on Martin<\/em> at the time, would come over to Green\u2019s place to collaborate, as she was a singer while Green was producing music.<\/p>\nAccording to Green, the pair ended up \u201cfooling around\u201d and formed a romantic bond. While Green had genuine feelings for Arnold, he started to feel \u201cinsecure\u201d about himself as he kept their romance quiet.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have someone who I\u2019m attracted to who\u2019s telling me like, \u2018You can\u2019t tell anybody,\u2019\u201d he reflected. \u201cI think for me, it really triggered something like, \u2018Oh, OK. I\u2019m not good enough for any of this. You don\u2019t even want your friends to know that you\u2019re hanging out with me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
However, once Arnold came around and wanted to tell people about their relationship, the actor felt mixed emotions.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt some point it flipped a little bit and all of a sudden she was like, cool with it. But I think somewhere in my mind, like, I had that subconscious switch of like, \u2018Oh, I\u2019m not this isn\u2019t a real relationship. This is just a thing that we\u2019re doing,\u2019\u201d he recalled. \u201cNow maybe her view of it has changed a little bit, but it didn\u2019t even start in a healthy way.\u201d<\/p>\n
While Green and Arnold ultimately did not work out, he shared he still has a lot of \u201clove\u201d for her and they remain friends all these years later.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s my girl. I will always have her back. She has always had my back,\u201d he said, adding he doesn\u2019t want anyone to think he was speaking \u201cpoorly\u201d about her.<\/p>\n
Before Green sat down with Cole, Arnold was a guest on the \u201cFunny Knowing You\u201d podcast last month. During her sitdown she revealed that she and Green dated in the past and what led to their breakup.<\/p>\n
\u201cI told him. I said, \u2018The reason why we\u2019ve come to the end of our road is because I see you dating all these Black women. Now you\u2019re dating me, and you\u2019re not going to end up with a Black woman. You\u2019re going to share your riches and your legacy with someone white. And so I\u2019m getting off this train.\u2019 I told you I\u2019m very good with endings,\u201d she said, adding that Green is \u201ca really nice guy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Arnold shared that she \u201cknew it wasn\u2019t going anywhere\u201d but had \u201ca great experience\u201d with Green. Their connection also affirmed she is primarily attracted to Black men.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m just attracted to Black men, like, that\u2019s my natural,\u201d she admitted. \u201cIt comes down to everything, just the pheromones, the smell, and everything.\u201d<\/p>\n
