America\u2019s Next Top Model<\/em> coach Miss J Alexander<\/strong> returned to the red carpet for the first time since his debilitating stroke.<\/p>\n

The iconic runway coach, 67, stepped out at the opening night at Titanique<\/em> on Broadway in New York City on Sunday, April 12, after revealing he suffered a stroke back in 2022.<\/p>\n

For the event, the reality TV star played it cool in a teal jacket adorned with constellations and floral details. Miss J complemented his look with a plaid scarf, brown circular sunglasses and a black cap. The TV personality used a wheelchair during the event.<\/p>\n

Miss J first revealed his health issue during Netflix\u2019s Reality Check: Inside America\u2019s Next Top Model<\/em> docuseries in February. \u201cEverything changed. On December 27th of 2022, I had a stroke,\u201d he shared. \u201cI didn\u2019t know where I was other than in the hospital. I spent five weeks in a coma and I couldn\u2019t walk [or] talk. And I thought to myself, what was I going to do?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tUPDATE 12\/9\/2025 at 12:31 p.m. ET \u2014 The Miss Universe Organization has shared an update on Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry following her fall from stage during the pageant in November. \u201cDr. Henry suffered a serious fall through an opening on the stage while performing her walk during the preliminary competition on November 19, 2025, resulting [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He then shared footage of himself in his hospital room, where he said he lived for at least \u201cone year and five months\u201d because he \u201ccouldn\u2019t walk and couldn\u2019t speak.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was emotional. I cried,\u201d he added. \u201cI am not ashamed to say that I cried. Then once I was in the hospital, Jay [Manuel]<\/strong> and Niguel [Barker]<\/strong> came to visit,\u201d he recalled of his America\u2019s Next Top Model costars. \u201cI thought back to how we used to do shows together. I cry because I just miss them so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miss J \u2014 known for teaching some of the most iconic fashion models how to walk a runway \u2014 said that he can no longer walk, though he is determined to eventually no longer need the assistance of a wheelchair.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t walk. Not yet. Not yet. I\u2019m determined to walk. I\u2019m sure you\u2019re gonna see me again, I\u2019m sure. It\u2019s not over for me yet,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the docuseries, Nigel, 53, opened up about visiting Miss J in the hospital. \u201cI don\u2019t know whether he even wanted me to see him that way,\u201d he said. \u201cThat was just such a terrible shock and really upsetting and horrifying and scary.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nigel continued, \u201cWhen he saw me, he was happy to see me and the two of us cried together and I held him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jay also got candid about seeing Miss J, sharing that he was \u201cupset.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI can only imagine where he was in his mind,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
