Deadline broke the news that the series had found its showrunner, Leila Cohan, who co-executive produces Bridgerton<\/em> for the streamer.<\/p>\n \n\tIn January 2026, the streamer and author changed tack to develop Happy Place <\/em>in to a film, with Henry committing to writing the screenplay.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Berkley-published\u00a0Happy Place\u00a0<\/em>follows Harriet and Wyn, who\u2019ve been a perfect couple since they met in college \u2014 they go together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Except now, for reasons they\u2019re still not discussing, they don\u2019t. They broke up five months ago, but when their friend group calls an emergency vacation meeting at the Maine beach house where they\u2019ve spent most of their summers, they both answer, but they still haven\u2019t told their best friends about the breakup. In January 2026 on the eve of People We Meet on Vacation<\/em>\u2018s release, it was revealed that the film will go to Netflix.<\/p>\n \n\tThe story follows children\u2019s librarian Daphne, who has just been broken up with by her fianc\u00e9 Peter, who quickly moved on to his childhood best friend, Petra. Forced out of their living situation, Daphne takes up residence with Miles, Petra\u2019s ex-boyfriend. The pair hatch a fake dating scheme to make their exes jealous at the wedding, but as with the popular trope, the pair\u2019s shared desire for revenge could spark a whole new flame.<\/p>\n \n\tLyrical Media\u2019s Alexander Black and Natalie Sellers as well as\u00a0Ryder Picture Company\u2019s Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett will produce the film.
