Now, three years later, we\u2019re ready for writer-director Takashi Yamazaki to take us back to Godzilla\u2019s world\u2026 and it\u2019s definitely a much bigger world this time around.<\/p>\n<p>After screening to audiences earlier today at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Toho and GKids have now officially released the first teaser trailer for\u00a0<em>Godzilla Minus Zero<\/em>, a direct sequel to the 2023 instant classic. Set in 1949, two years after the events of <em>Minus One<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Godzilla Minus Zero<\/em> sees the return of Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe as the protagonists of the film, reprising their roles as Koichi Shikishima and Noriko Oishi as they still navigate the traumas left behind from their unlikely survivals of Godzilla\u2019s first attack on Tokyo.<\/p>\n<div class=\"not-prose video-container\"><noscript><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"GODZILLA MINUS ZERO | First Look Teaser\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/n-NDYWPXpKg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/div>\n<p>So neither of them is likely too pleased that Godzilla\u2019s back again to cause havoc and stronger than ever. I also feel proud to have been able to work with Director Takashi Yamazaki and everyone on the team once again,\u201d Kamiki said in a statement provided to press. \u201cThe pressure of participating in a Godzilla work loved by so many people remains the same as in the previous film, but I have done my absolute best so that everyone who watches it, and everyone who loves Godzilla, can enjoy it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing the previous film, I am grateful to be able to exist in the world of <em>Godzilla Minus One<\/em> as Noriko,\u201d Hamabe added in her own statement. \u201cMy heart is already racing with excitement to share this grand moment with everyone as soon as possible, and see <em>Godzilla Minus Zero<\/em> in theaters soon. Since this work will be released in Japan and the U.S. around the same time, I am very happy to be able to share Godzilla\u2019s shocking return not only with people in Japan but also with those in America. I pray that this work will also be one that everyone can enjoy and love very much.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Godzilla Minus Zero<\/em> hits theaters in Japan on November 3, the same date the original\u00a0<em>Godzilla<\/em> released in 1954, and will open in the U.S. shortly thereafter on November 6.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Want more io9 news?
