\n\tJohnny Massaro and Rodrigo Santoro will star in Vicente Amorim\u2019s adaptation of Paulo Coelho\u2019s \u2018The Pilgrimage\u2019. Cameras are now rolling on the Netflix film.<\/p>\n
\n\tWe broke the news this one was happening back in mid-2024 and the shoot is now underway in Spain.<\/p>\n
\n\tSantoro starred in the 300<\/em> movies, HBO\u2019s Westworld<\/em> and Netflix\u2019s The Son of a Thousand Men<\/em>. Fellow Brazilian actor Massaro is also in the latter film. His other credits include God Save The King<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tMassaro plays Paulo, a man on a pilgrimage through the mountains, forests and fields of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. Guided by the enigmatic Petrus (Santoro), he undergoes a series of trials that transform his search for self-knowledge into an adventure that takes in mysterious encounters and invisible forces. The journey tests the physical and spiritual limits of both men.<\/p>\n \n\tAs production started in earnest, the team behind the film said their film will blend the spirit of a road movie with the magical language characteristic of Coelho\u2019s work.<\/p>\n \n\tThe bestselling book upon which the film is based has been translated into over 70 languages. Amorim (Senna<\/em>) helms the movie and is also co-screenwriter with Luiso Berdejo and Gustavo Bragan\u00e7a. Gullane, Fabiano Gullane and Miguel \u00c1ngel Faura produce.<\/p>\n \n\tNetflix also shared other casting info as the shoot commenced. Lara Tremouroux (Clara), Julia Konrad (Marina Astrain), Silvio Guindane (Roberto), Fabiana Gugli (Paulo\u2019s mother), Em\u00edlio de Melo (Paulo\u2019s father), Thelmo Fernandes (Clara\u2019s father), Isabel Gu\u00e9ron (Clara\u2019s mother) and Roberto Birindelli (Master) complete the cast.<\/p>\n \n\tThe European cast, meanwhile, includes Manuel Manqui\u00f1a (Hermit), Albert Pla (Magician), Gon\u00e7alo Diniz (Martim) and Elisabeth Bonjour (Madam Lourdes).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
