Tonight at CinemaCon, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige was joined by his own Avengers roster of talent:\u00a0Doomsday<\/em> directors Anthony and Joe Russo; Robert Downey Jr.; and Steve Rogers himself, Chris Evans, to talk a little bit about the arrival of one of the most anticipated films of the year. But they did more than talk: they showed us a first look at a brand new trailer for the film, which is packed with dread, action, and, of course, Doctor Doom.<\/p>\n It starts on the sign for Xavier\u2019s School. It\u2019s on a rubble-filled floor. Professor X looks out the window and sees something massive coming towards him. It looks like he accepts his fate.<\/p>\n \u201cSomething\u2019s coming,\u201d Doctor Doom says. \u201cSomething we may not be able to deter.\u201d We see an image of him kneeling and looking up to the sky. \u201cBefore this day is done, we\u2019ll be faced with an unthinkable decision.\u201d<\/p>\n We cut to Avengers Tower, which looks brand new with a large red and white A on the front. Thor is speaking. \u201cI\u2019ve fought with many warriors in my time,\u201d he begins, surrounded by the Thunderbolts, Captain America, Bucky, Ant-Man, and more. \u201cThey were far stronger than all us put together. And they died<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey died facing enemies and threats that scared me far less than this one,\u201d Thor continues. This is intercut with the Fantastic Four arriving at the tower. Shots of Shuri and several Wakandans, including M\u2019Baku and Namor. We see them meet Thing and some others. There\u2019s a brief shot of Thor arriving on a large field and Doom standing in the distance.<\/p>\n \u201cTheir sacrifice will have meant nothing if we do not stand together,\u201d Thor\u2019s narration adds. \u201cPut aside your petty squabbles. Presume nothing, except this\u2014If you return, you will return as brothers and sisters.\u201d<\/p>\n We see Cyclops burst into a room, blasting from his visor. Shang-Chi and Gambit battle somewhere. We see Mystique turn into Yelena as they battle. Ant-Man says goodbye to his daughter, Cassie. Namor flies around screaming. Sue Storm screams as a large wave rises above her.<\/p>\n Finally, Thor jumps and brings Stormbreaker down on Doom, who stops it easily. \u201cBut mark my words: we\u2019re going to need a miracle,\u201d he says. \u201cHey pal,\u201d a sudden familiar-sounding voice off screen says.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not possible,\u201d a shocked Thor says. He holds Mj\u00f6lnir out, and it flies into the hand of the other person. It\u2019s Steve Rogers.<\/p>\n There\u2019s no word on when the rest of the world is going to get to see this trailer, but when they do, expect the Internet to go\u00a0wild<\/em>.\u00a0Avengers: Doomsday<\/em> hits theaters December 18.<\/p>\n Want more io9 news?
