After winning season 29<\/span> of The Voice<\/i><\/span>, Alexia Jayy<\/strong> can finally enjoy the fruits of her labor and decide what she\u2019s going to do with her $100,000 prize money.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe haven\u2019t really thought about it, but I think we want to buy a house,\u201d Alexia, 31, exclusively shared with Us Weekly<\/i> on Thursday, April 16, while celebrating her big win. \u201cI think that\u2019s where we\u2019re going. We\u2019ve been working really, really hard since I was a kid, and I just want something really special for my family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alexia \u2014 who is a mother of two children \u2014 lives in Mobile, Alabama, and doesn\u2019t plan on moving straight to a major city. Instead, she envisions a \u201clittle\u201d relocation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe might move down the road,\u201d she said, \u201cbut still in the south.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Voice has been stunning viewers for years with amazing talent from across the United States, crowning 28 winners since it premiered in 2011. During season 19 of the NBC singing competition series, New York native Carter Rubin blew audiences away with his singing abilities and saw coach Gwen Stefani secure her first win. For now, it\u2019s all about celebrating a historic victory. Alexia became the first Black woman to win the NBC singing competition series on Tuesday, April 14.<\/p>\n

While all three coaches \u2014 Adam Levine<\/strong>, Kelly Clarkson<\/strong>\u00a0and John Legend<\/strong> \u2014 turned their chairs for Alexia in the Blind Auditions, it was the Maroon 5 singer who landed the soulful songstress and helped her advance to the finals.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing from a small town in Irvington, Alabama, and being able to make history for them is amazing,\u201d Alexia shared about her win. \u201cI\u2019ve been singing since I was 2 years old, and so I never in a million years thought I would make history. But I\u2019m glad that it\u2019s me, and I\u2019m glad I\u2019m in the number.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since her win on The Voice<\/i>, Alexia has already released a new single called \u201cRent Free<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the future, she hopes fans will be able to hear an inspiring album with more than a few hits.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re gonna keep working. We\u2019re gonna put an album out, and I hope y\u2019all love it,\u201d she shared. \u201cI\u2019m all about empowerment. I want to focus there, and I\u2019m just gonna keep trying to get on these big stages and keep recording, keep working.\u201d<\/p>\n
