The first outing for the superspy under his new Amazon overlords is otherwise shrouded in high-level mystery.<\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t know yet who\u2019ll be playing the iconic character, and we certainly don\u2019t know who\u2019ll get the coveted gig of crooning the new movie\u2019s theme song. Good news, though: there\u2019s a holdover in that latter department.<\/p>\n<p>The last James Bond theme arrived with the last Daniel Craig movie back in 2021. However, \u201cNo Time to Die,\u201d the Billie Eilish song, actually came out over a year and a half before the <em>No Time to Die<\/em> film, an awkward circumstance that came as Hollywood was grappling with pandemic-era theater shutdowns. It didn\u2019t end up mattering much\u2014the song ended up winning an Oscar.<\/p>\n<p>While there will absolutely be a new Bond song coming with Villeneuve\u2019s movie, whenever that hits screens, the video game <em>007 First Light<\/em> has just revealed Lana Del Rey\u2019s theme song. It\u2019s a fitting choice, not just because of the singer\u2019s talent for dreamy ballads\u2014\u201dFirst Light\u201d does kick into a higher gear as it intensifies, with those signature Bond-theme horns and strings\u2014but because she broke through years ago with a song literally titled \u201cVideo Games.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"not-prose video-container\"><noscript><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Lana Del Rey - First Light (Lyric Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/fA82c4YkAZ4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/div>\n<p>\u201cFirst Light\u201d gets the job done, though some of the lyrics are a little on the nose (\u201cDying just to know whether you\u2019ll play your life like a game\u201d). If nothing else, it gets us even more excited for the game\u2019s release\u2014and for the return of Bond to the big screen one of these days.<\/p>\n<p><em>007 First Ligh<\/em>t, from developer IO Interactive, releases May 27.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Want more io9 news?
