\n\tFrench actress Le\u00efla Bekhti\u00a0has been announced as President of the Cannes Film Festival\u2019s Un Certain Regard Jury.<\/p>\n
\n\tShe will be joined by Senegalese producer\u00a0Ang\u00e8le Diabang, Lebanon\u2019s composer\u00a0Khaled Mouzanar, Italy\u2019s director\u00a0Laura Samani, and France\u2019s director\u00a0Thomas Cailley.<\/p>\n
\n\t Bekhti\u00a0follows in the footsteps of UK filmmaker Molly Manning Walker in 2025 whose jury awarded Chilean filmmaker Diego C\u00e9spedes the Un Certain Regard Prize for his debut filmThe Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cFor my first time as Jury President, I will find myself in the unique position of watching, listening, sharing, and celebrating. Working in cinema has taught me that movies are places of encounter with others, with oneself, with the world,\u201d said Bekhti.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cDiscovering them alongside a jury, living this timeless experience, is both a responsibility and a joy. I look forward to the exchanged perspectives, the dialogues, and the doubts as well, which make up the richness of this living art. And, ultimately, I will be there in the most precious seat of all: that of the audience.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tBekhti first came to the public\u2019s attention in Jacques Audiard\u2019s A Prophet<\/em> (2009), with more recent credits including Gilles Lellouche\u2019s Sink or Swim<\/em> (2018), Joachim Lafosse\u2019s The Restless (<\/em>2021), Kheiron\u2019s All Three of Us<\/em> (2015), Perfect Nanny<\/em> (2019), Jeanne Herry\u2019s All Your Faces<\/em> (2023), and Ken Scott\u2019s Once Upon My Mother<\/em> (2025). She will soon appear in Jean-Pierre Jeunet\u2019s Changer l\u2019eau des fleurs<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tCannes Un Certain Regard opens with Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.
