Fabio Grosso says that he felt \u2018emotional\u2019 after watching his Sassuolo players put in a \u2018masterpiece\u2019 performance in their 2-1 victory over the Champions League-chasing Como in Serie A on Friday evening: \u2018I\u2019m proud of these guys, of what they have done and of what they will continue to do\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n Quickfire goals from Cristian Volpato and M\u2019Bala Nzola towards the end of the first half were enough for Sassuolo to hold onto all three points, despite Nico Paz pulling one back on the stroke of the interval.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You can see how the action unfolded on the Football Italia Liveblog.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI told the boys that they made me emotional today, they put together a masterpiece. Playing this game against this opponent shouldn\u2019t have been taken for granted, but instead we did really well,\u201d said Grosso during his post-match interview with DAZN.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe chose the right moments in the game to do the right things, so well done to the boys.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been an amazing year, now we have to recover and recharge. We will find other teams difficult to face and will come up against teams that put in performances of the highest level.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Grosso was asked how pleased he was with the performances of Cristian Volpato and M\u2019Bala Nzola, who provided the crucial goals against Como.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cVery happy,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s a group that trains well, it\u2019s right to praise them for being protagonists. I\u2019m happy with the people who work for me, together we always try to do our best. We\u2019re doing amazing things, we want to continue, knocking that we\u2019re facing very good opponents.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n And where does Grosso see Volpato playing his best football? Out wide or through the middle?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI talk to him a lot, for me he has impressive potential. I believe in him, he has really great qualities. Every now and then he slows down a bit, but he puts in a lot of good will. If he understands that certain things can change, he can affect games at very high levels,\u201d Grosso replied.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Sassuolo are now five points away from reaching an impressive tally of 50 points heading into the final five games of the season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve done a lot, quickly and unexpectedly. It wasn\u2019t an easy start, but then we got back on track.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve done amazing things, getting through a few scuffles, but maintaining our identity. I\u2019m very proud of these guys, of what they have done and of what they will continue to do.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
