\n\tAs Elle Fanning brought Rufi Thorpe\u2019s novel to life with David E. Kelley\u2019s Margo\u2019s Got Money Troubles<\/em> on Apple TV+, the actress had lengthy conversations about how to depict nudity in the series adaptation.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Oscar nominee explained that she\u2019s \u201cnot very modest\u201d when it comes to onscreen nudity, and she\u2019s particularly \u201creally proud\u201d of how it was used in her portrayal of the titular undergrad student who ends up pregnant with her English professor\u2019s baby, for whom she turns to OnlyFans in order to provide financial support.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI feel like I kind of broke that down in The Great<\/em>,\u201d she told People<\/em> of playing Catherine the Great in the 2020-\u201923 Hulu series. \u201cI was like, \u2018I\u2019ve kind of already done this.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFanning added that she\u2019s \u201creally proud of how the nudity is depicted on [Margo\u2019s Got Money Troubles<\/em>], because it\u2019s not in an overly sexualized way at all.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cA lot of it is actually just having to do with the necessities of motherhood, the need to feed your child and breastfeed,\u201d she explained. \u201cAnd then that\u2019s kind of juxtaposed, later, when Margo\u2019s doing her OnlyFans. But I think it\u2019s a nice commentary of how her relationship to her body changes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actress noted that nudity is \u201cnever the focal point of the scene,\u201d which \u201cmade it really interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cA lot of the time, I did have prosthetics to make [my boobs] look like breastfeeding boobs and milk that would squirt out this contraption that they had,\u201d added Fanning. \u201cSo I would be in the trailer and they\u2019d put them on, and then I would feel like, \u2018OK, I\u2019m just going to walk out.\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018Wait a second, I can\u2019t walk out. This isn\u2019t a shirt.’\u201d<\/p>\n
