\n\tNearly two years after the Syfy show was canceled, Don Mancini is ready to bring Chucky<\/em> back from the grave once again.<\/p>\n \n\tThe creator of the Child\u2019s Play<\/em> franchise recently announced at Pennsylvania\u2019s Steel City Con that he has a new Chucky<\/em> movie in the works, which will serve as a continuation of both 2017\u2019s Cult of Chucky<\/em> and the 2021-\u201924 series.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI\u2019m writing a new Chucky<\/em> movie,\u201d Mancini told the crowd, according to Bloody Disgusting, which also reported that he plans to return to the director\u2019s chair for the upcoming sequel.<\/p>\n \n\tJennifer Tilly, who plays murderous doll Tiffany in the franchise, recently teased to Entertainment Tonight that despite the end of the show, \u201cI know for a fact there is more Chucky and Tiffany in the works. The gruesome twosome.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tFollowing the news in September 2024 that the Chucky<\/em> series would end after three seasons, Mancini continued to tease the killer doll\u2019s onscreen future amid a #RenewChucky fan campaign as he and the show\u2019s stars reacted to its cancellation.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cHE\u2019LL BE BACK,\u201d wrote Mancini on X, sharing Deadline\u2019s previous report. \u201cI have so much love for our amazing fans. Your #RenewChucky campaign meant the world to me during a very difficult time. Chucky says to tell all of you, quoting himself: \u2018See ya real soon.’\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe cancellation came after Mancini teased that he was \u201creally excited\u201d about his idea for Season 4. \u201cI already pitched it to the network. So fingers crossed because it\u2019s something I really like to do,\u201d he told The Direct.<\/p>\n \n\tPremiering in 2021, Chucky<\/em> follows the murderous escapades of the notorious killer doll. He crosses paths with archenemies, old allies and new prey, as he seeks to inspire fear and mayhem wherever he goes. The show was executive produced by Mancini, Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, David Kirschner and Jeff Renfoe.<\/p>\n \n\tMancini launched the slasher franchise with Child\u2019s Play<\/em> (1988), which he co-wrote with John Lafia and director Tom Holland. He also wrote Childs Play 2<\/em> (1990), Child\u2019s Play 3<\/em> (1991), Bride of Chucky<\/em> (1998), Seed of Chucky<\/em> (2004), Curse of Chucky<\/em> (2013) and Cult of Chucky<\/em> (2017), serving as director for the last three installments as well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
