Martin Lawrence<\/strong> and Eddie Murphy<\/strong> officially share a grandchild after Martin\u2019s daughter Jasmin Lawrence<\/strong> and Eddie\u2019s son Eric Murphy<\/strong> welcomed their first baby.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey just had a baby girl,\u201d Eddie, 65, told\u00a0E! News\u00a0<\/em>on Saturday, April 18. \u201cThey just had her two weeks ago, or a week ago. Yeah, Ari Skye.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eddie, however, didn\u2019t have any advice for the new parents.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, you don\u2019t give advice like that,\u201d he quipped to the outlet. \u201cYou know, your kids don\u2019t go by your advice. Your kids go by the example you set. They watch you. The stuff you be saying, they don\u2019t even pay that s*** no mind. They watch and see what you do. So, I don\u2019t give a lot of advice.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMany stars grew their families in 2026. Former Bachelor contestant Sydney Warner announced in January that she gave birth to her second baby with her husband, NFL star Fred Warner. The Warners aren\u2019t the only stars who have their hands full this year. Meghan McCain, for her part, welcomed baby No. 3 nearly a week [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jasmin and Eric, who have not further announced their daughter\u2019s birth, announced her pregnancy via Instagram in February.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you Jesus for the greatest gift \u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f,\u201d they captioned their joint post.<\/p>\n

In the accompanying maternity photos, Eric rested his head on Jasmin\u2019s baby bump in one black and white image, while Jasmin cradled her belly in some solo pictures.<\/p>\n

Martin also shared the news via his own Instagram account at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat a blessing to start the day! My heart is overflowing with love and gratitude after the announcement of my first grandchild!\u201d he gushed. \u201cWatching @jasmin_lawrence and @ericmurphy777 begin this journey into parenthood means everything to me. Family is everything \u2014 and this moment is nothing less than a blessing from God. Welcome to the next generation!\u201d<\/p>\n

Eddie, for his part, weighed in on the prospect of Eric and Jasmin starting a family months before their pregnancy reveal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m never pushing them,\u201d he told E! News<\/em> in July 2025. \u201cIt\u2019s a beautiful blessing and whenever it happens, it happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jasmin is the eldest of Martin\u2019s three daughters. The Bad Boys<\/em> actor shares Jasmin with ex-wife Patricia Southall<\/strong> as well as Iyanna and Amara with ex-wife Shamicka Gibbs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Eric, meanwhile, is the eldest of Eddie\u2019s 10 children. Eric\u2019s mother is the Coming to America<\/em> star\u2019s ex-girlfriend Paulette McNeely<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Eddie is also the father of Bria, Myles, Shayne, Zola and Bella with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell<\/strong>, Christian with ex-girlfriend Tamara Hood<\/strong>, Angel with ex-girlfriend Mel B<\/strong> and Izzy and Max with wife Paige Butcher<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Eric and Jasmin went public with their relationship in June 2021. The following year, she divulged how the pair met.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy uncle actually introduced us \u2014 it wasn\u2019t even our dads,\u201d she told In Touch Weekly<\/em> in 2022. \u201cAnd they\u2019ve done two movies together. They\u2019re friends. I don\u2019t even know, it\u2019s crazy, but we met through my uncle and, you know, we became really good friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

News broke in July 2021 that the two comedians\u2019 offspring were dating. Lawrence\u2019s daughter Jasmin shared Instagram selfies at the time with the Saturday Night Live alum\u2019s son Eric in a touching birthday tribute. \u201cHappy birthday, my love! I\u2019m [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She added, \u201cObviously, we have similar backgrounds so we understood each other on a certain level, and over time it just, you know, became more.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eric and Jasmin announced their engagement in November 2024. The following May, Eddie confirmed the couple had tied the knot in a small church ceremony weeks earlier.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey went off, everybody was making the big wedding plans, and then they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them,\u201d Eddie said on The Jennifer Hudson Show<\/em>, joking that Martin didn\u2019t have to pay for a \u201cbig wedding.\u201d<\/p>\n
