Pro golfer Bryson DeChambeau<\/strong> announced that he is withdrawing from the LIV Mexico City Golf Tournament due to a wrist injury.<\/p>\n

\u201cI experienced some discomfort in my wrist during yesterday\u2019s round and have decided to withdraw from the final round of LIV Golf Mexico City to prevent further injury,\u201d said DeChambeau in a Sunday, April 19 statement via X. \u201cNot how I wanted this week to go, but wishing the Crushers a strong finish.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI\u2019m going to take a few days to get evaluated and hope to be ready for LIV Golf Virginia.\u201d<\/p>\n

The announcement comes at the heels of a disappointing Masters Tournament at Augusta National, where DeChambeau missed the cut after two rounds, ending his tournament early.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBryson DeChambeau is playing the best golf of his season. But off the course, the 32-year-old says life has been anything but easy. DeChambeau was brought to tears after claiming his second consecutive LIV Golf victory over the weekend, defeating Spain\u2019s Jon Rahm in a playoff at the LIV South Africa event at Midland\u2019s Club [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cJust give what the golf course gives me. I have to hit my irons better,\u201d he said after his first round at the Masters. \u201cI drove it left on numerous occasions \u2026 Wind didn\u2019t hurt it like we thought, but that\u2019s this game, that\u2019s the golf course. Everybody has an ability for weird things to happen, and today I just did not have my irons under control.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before withdrawing from the LIV Golf tournament, DeChambeau was attempting to become the first player to win three consecutive times at LIV Golf. He struggled at the start of the tournament and was 16 shots behind leader Jon Rahm when he withdrew.<\/p>\n

After his most recent LIV Golf victory \u2014 at LIV South Africa \u2014 DeChambeau was brought to tears while addressing the crowd.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot has happened in the past week. I\u2019m just so grateful for my team, the Crushers, everybody supporting me,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s so funny, golf is a fickle game, and you work so hard at it your whole entire life, and you realize that golf is just golf and there\u2019s a lot more to life than just golf.\u201d<\/p>\n
