It makes total sense that Disney and Marvel will re-release Avengers: Endgame<\/em> ahead of Avengers: Doomsday<\/em>. It offers a chance to show off their new \u201cInfinity Vision\u201d theatrical certification, reassuring audiences that Doomsday<\/em> missing out on IMAX screens because of Dune: Part Three<\/em> is totally fine<\/em>. And it also offers fans a way to remember all that happened in the 2019 release, which was a bit overwhelming even back then.<\/p>\n Another enticement? The Endgame<\/em> re-release will contain some new footage. Again, directors Joe and Anthony Russo planning a bumped-up edition of their seven-year-old superhero blockbuster for its return to theaters makes total sense. But until now, we didn\u2019t quite grasp how important the new scenes will be.<\/p>\n As Deadline reports, Joe Russo spread the word while speaking (over Zoom from the U.S.) at the Sands Film Festival in Scotland.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s critically important to re-release the movie, and, in fact, we\u2019ll be re-releasing the film with footage that is set in the\u00a0Doomsday<\/i>\u00a0story that we have added to\u00a0Avengers: Endgame<\/i>,\u201d Joe Russo explained.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s an opportunity to create a bridge from\u00a0Endgame<\/i>\u00a0to\u00a0Doomsday<\/i>\u00a0in a very unique way, and because the movie was so successful, we have an opportunity to re-release it. You don\u2019t always get the chance to re-release because it costs money, so the fact that we can enhance the story of\u00a0Doomsday<\/i>\u00a0by bridging it to\u00a0Endgame<\/i> and these characters that we worked with for years [and] that we love so much and continue their story: It\u2019s a really unique opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n He also termed the Endgame<\/em> re-release a \u201ccritical companion story\u201d and a \u201csetup for what you\u2019re gonna watch in December\u201d when Avengers: Doomsday<\/em> arrives.<\/p>\n So\u2026 the past seven years of Marvel movies and TV shows weren\u2019t doing anything to help lay the foundation for Doomsday<\/em>? Good thing we invested all that time watching multiple Disney+ series and all the films from Phases Four, Five, and Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.<\/p>\n Apparently, in order to be ready for Doomsday<\/em>, you\u2019ll have to buy a ticket for Endgame<\/em>\u2018s re-release so you can absorb the newly \u201ccritical\u201d information the Russos have added in. Maybe a scene where Doctor Doom decides he\u2019ll be stealing Tony Stark\u2019s face?
