West Wilson<\/strong> is speaking out about his controversial relationship with Summer House<\/em> costar Amanda Batula<\/strong> after receiving backlash from fans and costars.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was no overlap. I know there\u2019s a thousand different theories on the internet right now but that is one thing that for sure did not happen,\u201d West, 31, said on the Monday, April 20 episode of his and Sophie Cunningham<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cShow Me Something\u201d podcast, referring to his past romance with fellow costar Ciara Miller<\/strong> and Amanda\u2019s marriage to estranged husband Kyle Cooke<\/strong>. \u201cEveryone was single.\u201d<\/p>\n

West added that he and Amanda, 34, later \u201crealized things\u201d between them were \u201ca little bit serious.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the couple\u2019s romance took the internet by storm in March, West shared that he has been keeping things low-key and has stayed off his phone. However, he has reached out to some of his Summer House<\/em> costars to explain things.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve sent some texts. Haven\u2019t gotten responses from everybody yet, which is to be expected and I get it. That\u2019s the hardest part,\u201d he reflected. \u201cI think with this whole situation is my actions have hurt people I care about. But the reunion\u2019s coming up and I can give those apologies face-to-face and also clear up all of the crazy s*** that\u2019s been on the internet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amid ongoing rumors about their relationship status, Amanda and West confirmed their romance in a March 31 statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,\u201d the pair said in a joint statement posted via Instagram at the time. \u201cIt was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Amanda and West have \u201cshown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows,\u201d they insisted their romance \u201cwas the last thing either of us expected,\u201d adding that it \u201cgrew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amanda and estranged husband Kyle, 43,\u00a0announced their separation in January after four years of marriage, while West dated Amanda\u2019s friend Ciara, 30, in 2023 and hooked up with her in recent weeks, sources exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In the wake of West and Amanda\u2019s hookup scandal, an insider told Us<\/em> that Ciara was \u201cheartbroken\u201d by the situation, noting, \u201cShe and Amanda were very close, and she feels more betrayed than ever by both of them.\u201d<\/p>\n
