Robin Gosens lasted only 11 minutes in this evening\u2019s relegation showdown with Lecce, as the Fiorentina left-back limped off with a new muscular injury.<\/p>\n

This is a decisive clash to avoid the drop into Serie B, and therefore coach Paolo Vanoli thought it worth the risk to start Gosens even after Thursday\u2019s Conference League quarter-final against Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n

Bad news for Gosens and Fiorentina<\/h2>\n

Gosens pulled up in the opening minutes at the Stadio Via del Mare clutching the back of his left thigh.<\/p>\n

He immediately gestured to the bench that he could not continue, so was replaced by youth team talent Luis Balbo.<\/p>\n

It has been a difficult season for the 31-year-old Germany international, who scored four goals and provided three assists in 31 competitive appearances for Fiorentina.<\/p>\n

Gosens was already ruled out for two months at the end of October 2025 with a left thigh strain, so the fact it is the same leg could suggest a relapse.<\/p>\n

Fiorentina already made the trip to Lecce without Moise Kean, Fabiano Parisi, Nicol\u00f2 Fortini and Tariq Lamptey.<\/p>\n
