Duff has asked for privacy amid the breakup to protect her daughters. (Duff and Rosenberg share daughters Ryan, 10, and Lulu, 7.)<\/p>\n<p><em>Us Weekly<\/em> has reached out to Duff for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Duff and Rosenberg started dating in 2012 and they got engaged two years later.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis week has seriously just become the best week of my life!\u201d she wrote via her Real Girl\u2019s Kitchen blog. \u201cAs if announcing <em>The Real Girl\u2019s Kitchen<\/em> tv show wasn\u2019t enough, Matt just took me by total surprise and proposed \u2026 on April Fool\u2019s Day of all days! The moment was genuine and sweet (like him!) and I couldn\u2019t wait to say yes!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Duff continued, \u201cWe are so excited and happy to share our wonderful news with everyone! We both feel so blessed to have the love and support of our family and friends and can\u2019t wait to start this new adventure!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nearly a decade after getting engaged, Duff exclusively opened up to <em>Us<\/em> about why she and Rosenberg weren\u2019t in a rush to tie the knot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re busy with both of the kids and jobs, and we always say, \u2018We will at some point,\u2019 and then life continues to be busy, and we still really like each other, which is good, I guess,\u201d she told <em>Us<\/em> in April 2020. \u201cAt some point we will, but certainly now is not the time to have a wedding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>News of Haylie and Rosenberg\u2019s split comes a few months after her sister, <strong>Hilary Duff<\/strong>, confirmed that they had a falling out. (Hilary confirmed that her estrangement from Haylie inspired her song \u201cWe Don\u2019t Talk.\u201d)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbsolutely the most lonely part of my existence is not having my sister in my life at the moment,\u201d Hilary told <em>CBS Mornings<\/em> in February 2026. \u201cIt\u2019s my truth, and so many people are [also] having this experience. It\u2019s hard because I am me, and people know everything about my life since I was a child. I didn\u2019t necessarily choose that part, but it\u2019s my reality.
