\n\tEXCLUSIVE:<\/strong> C.J. \u2018Fiery\u2019 Obasi\u2019s psychological drama A Blue Butterfly <\/em>starring Steve Toussaint (House of the Dragon<\/em>) and Sanaa Lathan (Succession<\/em>) has completed filming in London and will move to Rwanda for a further two-week shoot. Check out a first look image from the project above.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tToday, we can announce that several names have also been added to the cast. Those include Lucian Msamati (Conclave<\/em>), Anton Lesser (Andor<\/em>), Eliane Umuhire (A Quiet Place: Day One<\/em>), Andy Nyman (Wicked<\/em>), and Aggy K. Adams (The Witcher<\/em>).<\/p>\n \n\tA Blue Butterfly <\/em>is Obasi\u2019s first feature since Mami Wata<\/em> (2023), which screened at Sundance before playing across the festival circuit. The film was Nigeria\u2019s entry for Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards and landed Independent Spirit and NAACP Image Award nominations. <\/p>\n \n\tA Blue Butterfly <\/em>is produced by Stella Nwimo with Rebecca Long co-producing for their Boudica Entertainment label. The project is described as character-driven, with a plot focused on \u201cexploring survivor\u2019s guilt, redemption, and the impossibility of self-forgiveness.\u201d Toussaint wrote the screenplay, and in the first image above, you can see him as the limousine driver Sentwali. He is living in self-imposed exile when he meets and forms a connection with a charismatic actress, played by Lathan, and for the first time in decades, considers a future.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cSteve\u2019s script is so intelligently written and intuitive,\u201d Obasi said in a statement. \u201cI connected with it immediately and saw the vision of how we would make a very human and cinematic character piece.
